Y LIFT® Procedure
Wrinkles, saggy cheeks, droopy eyes and neck, frown lines and thin skin are all a normal part of the aging process. Aging skin is primarily due to the loss of collagen which promotes skin firmness, plumpness and elasticity. Free radical activity in the body from internal and external toxins, such as cigarette smoking, also contributes to the loss of collagen and wrinkles which further compounds the appearance of aging skin.
Both men and women alike are searching for ways to promote firm skin and a naturally youthful and glowing appearance without having to invest in invasive surgeries. Most facelift surgeries require incisions, downtime and may result in ‘unnatural’ looking results.
A youthful appearance without surgery, incisions, scarring or general anesthesia is now obtainable. Y LIFT is a revolutionary advancement in anti-aging medicine. Y LIFT is a fast in-office procedure that promotes the appearance of firm, refreshed and rejuvenated skin without surgery and incisions.
To schedule a consultation with a healthcare provider in who is trained in the Y LIFT procedure, call (718) 576-3792 or contact us online.
What is the Y LIFT?
As we age, the ‘Y shape ‘ of the face that includes the contour of each cheekbone that tapers into the chin and jawline and downwards into the neck begins to sag. The contour of the face loses volume resulting in a wrinkled and sunken facial appearance. This can leave one looking more tired and older than they actually feel.
The Y LIFT is a minimally invasive facial contouring procedure that utilizes JUVEDERM® UltraPlus XC—a hyaluronic acid filler—to add structural volume to the cheekbones, chin, and jawline, and also helps to lift the upper neck, resulting in a natural, youthful appearance. Hyaluronic acid is naturally produced in the body and plays a major role in boosting collagen production and maintaining skin moisture.
The Y LIFT an excellent procedure for patients that are looking to provide volume and lift to areas such as the chin, cheeks and jawline without having to go ‘under the knife.’
Advantages of the Y LIFT over Conventional Fillers
The Y LIFT procedure is much different than conventional filler applications. Conventional filler applications that use ingredients such as hyaluronic acid are only injected into the superficial dermis layer of the skin. Only a small amount of filler can be injected into the superficial soft tissue area. If too much filler is used in the dermis area, it can result in an unnatural puffy and swollen appearance.
Unlike conventional fillers, the Y LIFT is placed beyond the soft tissue and muscle area to offer more structure and support. This deep placement of filler lifts soft tissue and adds more volume, creating a lifting effect, or ‘structural volumizing,’ to the Y shape of the face resulting in a natural and youthful look.
What to Expect During the Y LIFT Facelift Procedure
During the in-office procedure, a local anesthetic is applied to the face to minimize any discomfort. The Y LIFT procedure utilizes a titanium instrument, similar to a fine needle, which is inserted deep beneath the skin. The JUVEDERM UltraPlus XC hyaluronic acid filler is placed deep within the skin past the dermis and muscle area throughout the face. The area is then manually contoured to ensure that the filler is smoothed out and accentuates one ‘s natural features.
The Y LIFT facelift only requires between 15-20 minutes to perform and does not require any downtime. Y LIFT provides instant results that can last up to 1-2 years. Some patients may observe minor bruising or swelling which resolves within a couple of days.
The Y LIFT can be used to help lift the whole face or can be used to define specific areas such as the chin, cheekbones, or jawline. Depending on your specific needs, your healthcare provider can advise you as to the amount of filler that may be needed.
Takes Years off of Your Appearance with Y LIFT
If you are concerned about losing your youthful glow and are tired of looking in the mirror and seeing saggy skin, wrinkles and dull features, consider the Y LIFT as a nonsurgical facelift procedure that can help you take years off of your appearance and restore your youthful complexion.

Wrinkles Treatment
Wrinkles are a natural part of aging, but can damage confidence and self-esteem nonetheless. Skin naturally sags, stretches and changes with age. But wrinkles, especially in people who are not elderly, can be unsightly and many people choose to seek wrinkle treatment.
If you’re concerned about wrinkles, lines, folds or other signs of skin aging, please call (718) 576-3792 or contact us online.
What Causes Wrinkles?
Wrinkles occur naturally as a part of the aging process, but can stem from or are worsened by a number of other factors. Some of the other causes of wrinkles include:
- Repetitious facial expressions: This is where the terms “laugh lines”, “frown lines” and even “smile lines” stem from. Making the same expression over many years leads temporary wrinkles to expand and become permanent.
- Nutrition: Poor nutrition, especially deydration, can lead to skin damage and the earlier onset of wrinkles in certain areas of the body.
- Smoking: Years of tobacco smoking can lead to wrinkles surrounding the mouth and eyes.
- Sun damage: Exposure to harmful (or even healthy levels of) UV rays causes the skin to show signs of aging, especially in the areas most frequently exposed to the sun such as the face and hands.
While people most often are concerned about facial wrinkles, lines and folds can manifest themselves in a number of other areas. Some common types of wrinkles include:
- Forehead wrinkles
- Eye wrinkles
- Neck wrinkles
- Under-Eye wrinkles
- Lip wrinkles
Wrinkle Treatments
There are a variety of ways to treat wrinkles. Although wrinkles are themselves a natural part of the aging process, many people prefer a more youthful or wrinkle-free appearance.
In addition to general wrinkle-reduction tips, such as smoking cessation and better sleeping habits, wrinkle treatments include:
- Laser wrinkle reduction
- Skin tightening
- Dermal fillers, such as Restylane and Juvederm
- Injectable wrinkle reducers, such as Botox and Dysport
- Wrinkle creams
- Chemical peels
- Ultrasound therapy, such as Ultherapy
- Radiofrequency technology, such as Profound
- Ozone therapy
- Mesotherapy
- Platelet-rich plasma injections
- Micro needling
- Threadlift
The wrinkle treatment that is right for you depends on the severity and location of your wrinkles. Consulting with a dermatologist or medical professional is the best way to determine a wrinkle treatment course.

Vitamin B Complex Injections
Vitamin B complex is a grouping of all B vitamins. The vitamins in vitamin Bcomplex are essential for growth, development, and a variety of other bodily functions. They also play a major role in the activities of the enzymes and proteins that regulate chemical reactions in the body, which is crucial in converting food into energy. B vitamins also play an essential role in maintaining the nervous system, proper cell function, and increasing metabolism.
Each of the B vitamins present in a vitamin B injection are water soluble. This means that instead of being stored in fats, B vitamins dissolve. Vitamin B complex injections are more efficient because the body naturally depletes itself of these vitamins through urine or perspiration. Fat-soluble vitamins—like vitamins A, D, and E—are stored in the body and released as needed, while B complex vitamins get used up daily and need to be replenished regularly.
What’s in B Complex Injections?
B complex injections are perfect for people with dietary restrictions, for those who have had trouble losing weight, or for anyone experiencing digestion issues. Vitamin B has shown to improve the metabolic process, while also stimulating immune and nervous system function. The main subtypes of B vitamin that are present in the injection can also be found naturally in the foods we eat every day:
- B1 (thiamine): Pork, berries, lean meats, nuts, and soy milk
- B2 (riboflavin): Eggs, dark green vegetables, fish, grains, and mushrooms
- B3 (niacin): Sunflower seeds, tuna, poultry, potato, and liver
- B5 (pantothenic acid): Organ meats, avocados, broccoli, and mushrooms
- B6 (pyridoxine): Green beans, whole grains, spinach, fish, and bananas
- B7 (biotin): Soy products, egg yolks, fish, and cheese
- B9 (folic acid): Green leafy vegetables, citrus juice, tofu, and tomato juice
- B12 (cobalamin): Milk, fish, fortified breakfast cereals, and shellfish
To maintain proper vitamin B levels, it’s important to follow a diet that is rich in vitamin B complex. Because it is not stored and released from fat as needed, it’s up to you to replenish your system. Deficiencies of any of these eight vitamins making up vitamin B complex can cause several health problems, including memory loss, high blood pressure, mental confusion, inflammation, and more.
How Effective Are Vitamin B Complex Injections?
Vitamin B complex injections contain all of the eight subtypes of the B vitamin that the body needs. Because the vitamin is injected rather than digested, it offers a better absorption rater. Under medical supervision, an individual can experience many benefits from using these B complex injections.
Unfortunately, many of us don’t get enough B vitamins through diet alone; deficiencies in folic acid, B12, and B6 are quite common. To maintain constant blood levels, B complex injections should be given on a regular basis. These B vitamin injections are used to directly insert these vitamins into the bloodstream, immediately replenishing the system. The amount and frequency of injections you receive will be determined by your physician.
The dosage of your B complex injection will depend on your age, gender, height and physical condition. Receiving the proper dosage is crucial to realizing its benefits. Numerous studies have found that vitamin B complex injections are more efficient than tablets, gels or liquids. This is because the digestive system, stomach acids, and enzymes attack the molecular structure of B vitamins when they are digested.

Ultherapy
The facelift is one of the most popular procedures around, but it features a lot of negatives. It’s invasive, surgical and can cause intense bleeding. That’s what makes Ultherapy so exciting. It provides the benefits of a facelift without the inherent negatives because it uses sonic waves to rejuvenate your look. Please call (718) 576-3792 or contact us online.
How Does Ultherapy Work?
Ultherapy is less of a facelift and more of an uplift. It provides natural, noticeable results for facial neck skin. Ultherapy lifts, tightens and generally provides a more youthful look. As you age, gravity begins to take a toll on your skin. This results in saggy, droopy and generally unsightly skin.
Ultherapy corrects this and stands up to gravity through the use of ultrasound. Not dissimilar to the type of ultrasound that expectant mothers receive, Ultherapy is performed with a smooth handpiece placed over the affected skin area.
This handpiece emits ultrasonic waves that bypass the surface of the skin. Whereas laser skin treatments only affect the top, cosmetic layer of the skin, Ultherapy goes deep within and targets the structural skin tissues where collagen is created.
By going deep and stimulating collagen, Ultherapy gives your look an uplift. The tiny deposits of ultrasound energy tighten and gradually lift your skin, which gives you a more youthful look and helps to eliminate sag.
Is Ultherapy Right for Me?
Ultherapy stimulates your body’s natural healing processes through the use of ultrasonic waves. While Ultherapy isn’t for everyone, it is FDA-cleared for the treating and improving facial skin. Ultherapy is:
- Fast: Unlike a conventional facelift, Ultherapy can be performed in just an hour.
- Safe: Ultherapy is non-invasive and non-surgical. No incisions or cuts are made as a part of the procedure.
- Easy: Because Ultherapy is non-invasive, it features virtually no downtime, unlike traditional facelifts which can take some time to recover from.
- Effective: Ultherapy has been used by physicians and estheticians all over the world to turn back the signs of aging and create a more youthful look.
Take Control of Your Skin
There’s no reason you have to accept saggy, wrinkly and droopy skin as you age: Ultherapy provides a safe, non-invasive solution. If you’re interested in the power of an ultrasonic uplift, please call (718) 576-3792 or contact us online.
Thread Lift Procedure
While it is true that the cumulative effects of aging—including collagen loss, sun damage, loss of facial fat and genetics—can take a dramatic toll on your facial appearance, invasive surgery is not a necessity to outwardly turn back the hands of time. Approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), a thread lift procedure can help men and women tighten and lift sagging facial skin through the use of safe, absorbable sutures.
This simple, minimally-invasive procedure, which many have coined the “lunchtime lift,” provides natural, lasting results without the downtime or scarring that typically occurs with traditional facelift surgeries.
If you want to restore a more youthful appearance to your face without going under the knife, schedule a consultation with a qualified healthcare professional in that specializes in the thread lift. Call (718) 576-3792 or contact us online.
Candidates for the Thread Face Lift Procedure
Prior to the procedure, you will meet with your healthcare provider to discuss whether or not you are a good candidate for a thread lift and your expectations for the procedure.
The best candidates for a thread lift are men and women between the age of 30 and 60 who are experiencing mild to moderate sagging and drooping in their cheeks, jawline and neck who want to take years off their face without the risk or recovery of traditional, more invasive skin tightening procedures.
While a thread lift can deliver astounding results, the results are not as dramatic as a traditional facelift. If you have severe skin sagging, you may not achieve the results you desire with a thread lift alone. Your healthcare provider can discuss a full range of surgical and non-surgical options which may be more appropriate for your skin needs.
What to Expect During Your Thread Face Lift Procedure
If you are deemed a good candidate for a thread face lift, the procedure can be completed in the office of your healthcare provider in under two hours. You will be given a local anesthetic which will numb the treatment area(s), and your healthcare provider will mark the areas to be treated.
Your healthcare provider will then insert fine polydioxanone (PDO) threads which are surgical sutures typically utilized in cardiothoracic surgery. The threads will attach to fat beneath your skin, providing a natural-looking lift. Once inserted, your body will begin a process of controlled healing, in which collagen forms around each thread. Your body will slowly absorb these threads over time without scar tissue formation, leaving new healthy collagen in its place.
Your healthcare provider may recommend over-the-counter pain medication such as acetaminophen or ibuprofen to manage your discomfort immediate following your thread lift. You may have mild swelling or bruising which typically subsides within a week. You should avoid vigorous activity for a few days following the procedure.
Thread Lift Results
For some, the results of a thread lift are immediate. However, more noticeable results appear in the weeks that follow your procedure as the swelling and bruising subside. You will continue to see results improve as new collagen forms in the cheeks, jowls and neck over the course of several months.
As you continue to age, your need for additional threads may too. Additional threads can always be added to further enhance or prolong your results. What’s more, if you decide to elect a different or more invasive procedure in the future, you can do so without risk of agitating these threads, as the threads will be absorbed by your body.

Speed Up Your Metabolism
Metabolism is the complex process your body uses to change the food and drink you take in into energy. To do this, your body takes calories and combines them with oxygen to supply the fuel to keep your body functioning. This means supporting obvious functions (like walking or talking) and the ones you may not think about like digestion, breathing and circulating blood through your body.
Sometimes people will blame a “slow metabolism” for changes in their weight. While it is true that metabolism controls how your body uses calories, the larger influence on your weight comes from your diet and how much you move. If you burn more calories than you take in, you will lose weight—take in more than you burn, and you’ll gain. These factors can also influence how you gain weight:
- How much muscle you have. Muscle burns more calories than fat, even when you’re sitting still.
- Your gender. Because men tend to have more muscle than women, they burn more calories.
- Your age. Muscle mass drops as we get older and slows down calorie use.
Unless you are under a medical provider’s care for a condition like Cushing’s syndrome or an underactive thyroid (hypothyroidism), chances are your metabolism probably isn’t working against you. But just like everyone’s body is different, so is the metabolic rate —making it easier to gain or lose weight depending on who you are.
How to Speed Up Metabolism?
Most of the processes that make up your body’s metabolism are natural and happening inside your body without any effort—they are not something you can control. However, there are a few ways you can help boost your calorie burn:
- The best way to speed up your metabolism is to exercise. Exercise builds muscle and muscles burn more calories. This leads to a faster metabolism.
- Remember to eat every three to four hours. Eating high quality foods (not junk food and empty calories) every few hours helps keep your body from entering starvation mode. Eating on an unpredictable schedule tells your body to start storing calories as fat (since your body is unsure when the next meal will come) instead of using them.
- Stay away from junk food. Highly processed foods (high in sugar or fat; low in fiber and water) slow down digestion and metabolism, and leave you feeling like a slow motion version of yourself. While they may provide a quick pick-me-up, the end result is nothing but bad. Stay away from the junk and choose fresh fruits, vegetables, healthy fats (like avocado) and lean meats like fish or grilled chicken.
- Get plenty of rest. Researchers say that people who don’t get enough sleep will burn fewer calories at rest than those who do. Try to get 7 or 8 hours a night if you can.
- Drink plenty of water. Dehydrated cells will not burn as many calories as those which are meeting their need for fluids. Stick with water to avoid extra calories. Try to drink six to eight glasses of water a day.

SkinPen II Micro-Needling
What is SkinPen II Micro-Needling?
SkinPen II™ is a medical-grade, state-of-the-art micro-needling device that induces the body’s natural healing process to reverse signs of aging. This system helps initiate the skin’s self-repair process by creating thousands of precise micro-injuries in the skin, which automatically trigger new collagen production. Some advantages of treatment with SkinPen II include:
- It’s minimally invasive and quick
- It’s performed in-office with little downtime
- It can be used on all skin types
- It reduces wrinkles, fine lines and acne scars
The SkinPen II’s microscopic needling therapy can be used alone as a skin rejuvenation treatment and as a supplement to other procedures to increase the effectiveness and absorption of other anti-aging creams and serums. The micro-injuries created during this procedure allow for deeper penetration of topical products not normally absorbed so deeply by the skin.
How Does SkinPen II Work?
The SkinPen II device is an electric handpiece that uses 12 small medical-grade needles along with vibration to create painless micro-injuries or channels on the skin’s surface. During this non-invasive procedure, the physician gently presses the SkinPen II device against the skin while simultaneously gliding it across the skin until the entire treatment area has been micro-needled. Throughout this process, the SkinPen II creates a series of precise, controlled micro-injuries that stimulate the body’s immune response, which also helps produce new collagen and elastin.
Following treatment, patients may notice bright red spots on the skin that can look and feel like sunburn—this typically dissipates after two to four days. Skin typically looks smoother, tighter and more refreshed after treatment, creating a younger, healthier appearance. The total recovery time depends on the severity of the damaged skin and the depth of the repair process required—although most patients can return to normal activities immediately. The procedure itself usually takes between 15 to 30 minutes depending on the size of the area being treated.
Who is a Candidate for SkinPen II Treatment?
SkinPen II can be used on all parts of the body, including the face, neck, décolletage, arms, hands, legs, abdomen and back. Its versatility makes it especially suitable for treating acne scars on the back and stretch marks on the body. Because SkinPen II treatment is a non-thermal approach to skin rejuvenation, it can benefit patients of any skin type with zero risk of burning or blistering. The SkinPen II is typically used for treating the following conditions:
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Acne scars
- Hyperpigmentation
- Stretch marks
- Sagging skin
Some patients may require a single treatment to achieve optimal results, although in most cases, it is recommended that patients receive three to six treatments at six- to eight-week intervals. The length and amount of treatment a patient receives depends on the condition being addressed.

Skin Tag Removal
Skin tags, also called skin tabs, are small pockets or flaps of excess skin that hang from the body. Unlike moles, which may be cancerous, skin tags are entirely harmless. They are, however, unsightly and can be painful if touched or snagged.
Skin tag removal is a viable option to remove these uncomfortable skin flaps and restore your appearance. Don’t suffer with skin tags: Call (718) 576-3792 or contact us online.
What Causes Skin Tags?
Skin tags, medically known as acrochordon, form naturally over time and are not a sign of an ongoing illness or cancer. Skin tags can occur in both genders, but are much more common in women than men. Skin tags can occur anywhere in the body, but most frequently appear on the:
- Neck
- Shoulders
- Chest
- Back
- Underarm
- Under the breasts
- Around the groin
Age and weight are the main contributing factors that cause skin tags. Skin tags appear much more frequently in the elderly, and much more frequently in those who have recently gained weight.
Regardless of the cause, skin tags should not be treated with “natural” skin tag removal or home skin tag removal, as these methods are unsafe and untested. The best skin tag removal is performed by an experienced medical professional with skin tag surgery.
Skin Tag Removal Surgery
Skin tag surgery is very similar to mole removal surgery. During the procedure:
- A small amount of anesthesia is applied.
- Utilizing a scalpel, the skin tag is removed.
- The area is stitched up, if necessary
Skin tag removal is an outpatient procedure and is considered minimally-invasive. As such, it has very little recovery timeand scars that are tiny or not visible altogether. Skin tags vary in amount and size from person to person, so the cost of skin tag removal depends on your individual treatment needs.
Schedule a Skin Tag Consultation
You don’t have to live with unsightly or potentially harmful skin tags. Skin tag removal surgery provides a safe, effective and minimally-painful way to address skin tabs. It’s time to take your skin back, to schedule a consultation call (718) 576-3792 or contact us online.
Radiofrequency Body Contouring
Radiofrequency body contouring is an aesthetic and cosmetic procedure designed to eliminate pockets of excess fat and sagging skin. Radiofrequency body contouring is considered a minimally invasive treatment. This means that the procedure removes fat without the use of incisions or open surgery.
Request radiofrequency body contouring treatment information today: Call (718) 576-3792 or contact us online.
How does Radiofrequency Body Contouring Work?
Radiofrequency body contouring delivers special radio waves to the treatment area. These waves are received by the skin’s cells and translated into energy that causes the skin to heat up. This heat transforms fat cells, collagen and elastin in the skin resulting in a tight, toned appearance.
Collagen and elastin are stimulated during the treatment, while fat cells shrink. After treatment, new collagen and elastin will begin to form. The result: skin that is tighter, more toned and all-around more youthful.
Radiofrequency body contouring can be used on nearly any part of the body, including:
- Face
- Arms
- Legs
- Back
- Stomach
- Chest
- Neck
What can Radiofrequency Body Contouring Treat?
The treatment is painless and versatile, making it a good choice for a variety of skin conditions. Common uses of radiofrequency body contouring:
- Tightening the skin on the backs of the arms
- Tightening the stomach after pregnancy
- Reducing fine lines and wrinkles on the face or body
- Reducing cellulite
- Lift and tighten your bottom
Radiofrequency Body Contouring Treatment
Many patients describe the process as very relaxing. The radiofrequency body contouring procedure requires 20-30 minutes per treatment area. First, your provider will apply a jelly-based lubricant to the area and then move a wand gently over the skin to deliver the radiofrequency. While the wand itself can get hot, you shouldn’t feel anything.
When your session is over, you should notice improvement in your skin’s tone right away and you can expect that to improve even further over the next few days.
Radiofrequency Body Contouring Results & Recovery
Long term radiofrequency results will require several treatments. Your provider will be able to guide you in the number of treatments you need, but you can expect to have between 1 and 3 treatments per week for a total of 4-8 treatments.
Most people don’t have any problems after a session. Rarely, some people experience mild redness of the skin that usually goes way within 30 minutes, but sometimes it can last 24 hours. There is no pain or down time with radiofrequency body contouring. Individual results may vary.

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy for Scar Reduction
Platelet rich plasma, also known as PRP, has many medical uses. Platelet rich plasma is a type of natural stem cells – those that are drawn from your own blood and used for healing purposes. Because of that process, platelet rich plasma (PRP) therapy for scar reduction is a very viable option.
Request more information on PRP scar reduction today: call (718) 576-3792 or contact us online.
What is Platelet Rich Plasma for Scar Reduction?
Platelet rich plasma (PRP) for the treatment of scars is an exciting new option. This method utilizes the same technology that has been applied for injury recovery and advanced aesthetics to help scale back and reduce the visibility of scars.
PRP for scar reduction has been used to treat:
- Acne scars
- Surgical scars
- Keloids
- Minor burn scars
The effectiveness of platelet rich plasma in treating each of these issues will vary depending the individual patient and the severity of the scar. One of the major benefits of platelet rich plasma is that it features very little downtime and virtually no pain. This is contrary to many other methods of scar reduction, which may be painful and drawn out.
How Does PRP for Scar Reduction Work?
The stem cells utilized in platelet rich plasma therapy for scar treatment are completely natural and come only from your own body. In order to obtain these cells, blood must be withdrawn from your body and spun through a special device known as a centrifuge.
This process isolates the PRP cells, which can stimulate the body’s natural healing processes. The complete PRP therapy process follows these steps:
- During an initial consultation, the target area is analyzed to see if PRP will be effective as a treatment.
- Blood is withdrawn (typically from the arm).
- This blood is placed in a centrifuge and spun.
- The centrifuge separates the blood in to two substances: cells and plasma.
- The special PRP cells are extracted and inject back in to the body.
- The body’s natural healing process is typically stimulated and accelerated due to the growth factors contained within the PRP.
Many patients see results over a period of several weeks. The entire platelet rich plasma (PRP) process takes roughly an hour and features virtually no downtime.

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy for Hair Restoration
What is Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy?
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is blood plasma that has been enriched with platelets. PRP is rich in growth factors, so when PRP is applied to the scalp it can contribute to hair growth.
How is PRP made?
Platelets for PRP are made from the patient’s own blood. It is similar to a patient donating his or her blood before a surgical procedure. This is what the process entails.
- First, blood is withdrawn from the patient into tubes.
- Next, the blood is placed in a centrifuge and is spun around.
- The centrifuge process concentrates the red and white blood cells and platelets in different levels in the tubes. Blood plasma that is rich in platelets is taken out and is readied for the application process.
How is PRP used for hair restoration?
After PRP is made, it is injected into the scalp where the hair is thinning, so it can trigger the body’s natural healing instincts.
Research indicates that PRP promotes hair growth by stimulating hair follicle stem cells. The platelet growth factors induce follicle stem cells to shift from a dormant state to an active state, and that starts the process of hair production.
Who are good candidates for PRP for hair restoration?
PRP for hair restoration is best for patients whose hair is starting to thin.
Patients who have active infection on the scalp, diabetes, and are on blood thinning medications are not good candidates for PRP.
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Facial Rejuvenation
What is Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Facial Rejuvenation Therapy?
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is blood plasma that has been enriched with platelets. Platelets contain growth factors; when applied to the skin, they can stimulate the growth of collagen. Collagen plumps the skin, giving it a youthful and supple appearance. PRP for facial rejuvenation has been used since 2006. It has shown to be effective in reducing wrinkles and improving skin quality areas around the eyes, mouth, cheeks, neck, and jawline.

How is PRP used for facial rejuvenation?
First, your skin is assessed and prepared for treatment. Then, anesthetic cream is placed on the face about 45 minutes to an hour before the procedure. Next, blood plasma that has gone through the PRP process is applied topically on the skin or injected in target areas. The actual procedure takes about 20 minutes to a half hour.
What are the expected results associated with PRP facial rejuvenation?
Improvement of skin fullness, texture, and tone can be noticeable within a few weeks of treatment. PRP for facial rejuvenation is recommended in 3 to 6 treatments, spaced out at least a month apart.
Is PRP for facial rejuvenation safe? How long is the recovery time?
PRP for facial rejuvenation is safe. Because PRP contains white blood cells, your body’s natural immune defense agents, infection is rare with PRP treatment.
Typically, there is little to no downtime associated with the treatment. Some redness and bruising might be visible, but this typically clears up in about a week.
Who are good candidates for PRP for facial rejuvenation?
The treatment is suitable for individuals hoping for gradual but noticeable improvement in their skin’s fullness, texture, and tone. PRP for facial rejuvenation is an ideal treatment for patients seeking little to no downtime after treatment.
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) for Stretch Marks
Why Do Stretch Marks Develop?
Estimates suggest up to 80 percent of people have stretch marks (striae). These unwanted markings can manifest on several different parts of the body, including the stomach, thighs, arms, and breasts. Rapid weight gain, extreme weight loss, and hormonal changes are typically the catalysts that cause your skin to stretch beyond its normal capacity. In turn, the dermis breaks, leaving reddish purple streaks or stripes on your skin. Pregnancy is a perfect storm of weight gain and hormonal changes that frequently results in stretch marks; in fact, 90 percent of women develop these “tiger stripes” during their pregnancy.
Unfortunately, preventive measures often prove ineffective in the treatment of stretch marks; diminishing your stretch marks appearance after their development is often the best strategy. One treatment, which uses your blood’s own growth factors, is quickly becoming the go-to stretch mark treatment: Platelet-Rich Plasma Therapy (PRP).
PRP for stretch marks utilizes platelets and other growth factors harvested from your blood to promote your body’s natural healing ability and eliminate everything from stretch marks to wrinkles and scarring. You do not have to bear the burden of unsightly stretch marks anymore. To schedule a consultation with a qualified healthcare practitioner in that specializes in PRP treatment for stretch marks, call (718) 576-3792 or contact us online.
Why Is PRP Good for Stretch Marks?
Your blood is comprised of a liquid called plasma that contains platelets and red and white blood cells. Your blood platelets contain proteins called growth factors that have been deemed to be critical in healing injuries, which is why PRP is most often seen in the media as a treatment for athletic injury, with famous athletes (like Tiger Woods and Kobe Bryant) touting its ability to help them heal.
In the human body, platelets are activated in response to injury. They clot blood and facilitate healing of an active injury. PRP likewise responds with its cascade of healing growth factors to heal an injury. Unfortunately, stretch marks are scars, not fresh injuries. To activate the PRP response to eliminate stretch marks, controlled injury must be created. That is where micro needling comes into play. Micro needling pricks microscopic holes into the outer and inner layers of your skin to cause micro-injuries that trigger your body’s healing response. That is when PRP steps in with its concentrated platelets and growth factors—first to clot the micro-bleeding, then to trigger collagen and elastin growth. Each time the process occurs, your stretch marks get smaller and less-noticeable.
Who is a Good Candidate for PRP Stretch Mark Removal?
Because PRP is nothing more than your own blood placed in a centrifuge to concentrate your platelets, there is no allergic response or risk using PRP injections even in deep tissue, much less in skin.
Good candidates for PRP stretch mark removal include:
- Mothers who developed stretch marks during pregnancy or breastfeeding
- Teens who experience stretch marks due to growth spurts and hormonal changes of puberty
- Individuals with drastic weight loss or weight gain
- Individuals with a family history of developing stretch marks
- People exposed to high levels of cortisol, whether due to prescription corticosteroids or Cushing’s disease, who have developed stretch marks
- Individuals who have developed stretch marks due to nutritional deficiencies
People prone to infection or with compromised immune function should discuss the risk of infection with a healthcare professional prior to using PRP for stretch marks.
What to Expect Using PRP for Stretch Marks
PRP treatment for stretch marks is conducted in an office or clinic setting and normally takes no more than an hour. First, your blood is drawn and processed in a centrifuge to concentrate your platelets.
Once your platelet-rich plasma is prepared, your healthcare provider will begin with the micro needling portion of the procedure. There are various tools used to accomplish micro needling, but they are all designed to cause minimal, sometimes no pain. There is often a numbing agent used in the process. Next, your healthcare provider will begin topical application of the PRP to the needled area, which takes about 20-30 minutes.
You may experience minimal pain or inflammation at the site of treatment, but since PRP has pain-relieving properties, it normally kicks in and provides its own pain relief. Most people see improvement in the first treatment, but three or four sessions may be required. They are best spaced one month to six weeks apart.
Using your body’s own platelet-rich plasma can be a safe and effective way to heal and repair your body from the skin damage and unsightly appearance of stretch marks. If you are one of the 260 million Americans who suffers from stretch marks, request more information about PRP stretch marks treatment today. Call (718) 576-3792 or contact us online.
Photofacials
Photofacials use high-powered light to rejuvenate facial skin and provide relief sagging, wrinkled or damaged skin. To learn more about photofacial treatments, please call (718) 576-3792 or contact us online.
How do Photofacials work?
There are two primary types of photofacials (or fotofacials), LED and intense pulsed light (IPL).
- LED photofacials are a gentle treatment that stimulates collagen production. LED photofacials are less potent, but do produce results for younger-looking skin and acne-reduction.
- IPL photofacials are used to treat wrinkles, lines and provide total facial rejuvenation. The intense pulsed light used in this style of treatment is far more powerful, but has greater effects.
IPL photofacials are both more common and more effective. IPL photofacials can treat:
- Wrinkles
- Lines
- Acne
- Redness
- Rosacea
- Age spots
- Liver spots
- Sun-damage
- Freckles
- Brown spots
- Broken capillaries
- Spider veins
What is a Typical Photofacial Like?
The length of your IPL photofacial will vary depending on what skin conditions are being treated. Most photofacials fall somewhere between 30 – 45 minutes. During the non-invasive procedure, your healthcare provider will use a device to administer high-energy broadband light to your face. This light targets pigmentation and eliminates it, which reduces spots and wrinkles. As a positive side-effect, the intense pulsed light also stimulates collagen. When collagen is stimulated, your skin becomes tighter, supple and more youthful.
During the procedure, you will likely be provided with a covering to shield your eyes. The IPL can get hot, so most machines feature a built-in cooling fan. Your doctor may also provide a topical anesthetic to make the experience more pleasant.
How do I get a Photofacial?
An experienced provider can recommend a photofacial treatment plan that’s tailored to suit your needs. Get started with a photofacial consultation: please call (718) 576-3792 or contact us online.
PDO Thread Lift
What is a PDO Thread Lift?
As the body ages, the skin loosens and sags, including that on the forehead, eyes, and lips. Unfortunately, this can cause your face to look older than your real age. Thankfully, there is a treatment available that can help your skin regain what has been lost during the aging process.
Originating in South Korea, the PDO Thread Lift is a minimally-invasive treatment which uses threads made of Polydioxanone (PDO) to lift and tighten loose and sagging facial skin. The treatment can remove or reduce wrinkles and improve the skin’s texture, creating smoother and younger-looking skin. To learn more about PDO Thread Lift and find a provider in , call (718) 576-3792 or contact us online.
Who is a Good Candidate for a PDO Thread Lift?
A PDO Thread Lift is best suited for someone who is between 40-70 years of age who has wrinkles and pronounced facial lines that make them look older than they really are. It is also well-suited for individuals who:
- Have minimal signs of aging
- Are looking for alternative fillers that are more effective and long-lasting
- Wishes to avoid surgery, general anesthetic, or undergo prolonged recovery
- Have had some relapse from a previous plastic surgery procedure, like a facelift or neck lift
PDO Thread Lift Procedure
The PDO Thread Lift procedure will usually take about 15-30 minutes. During your appointment with the healthcare specialist, you will first be given a topical anesthetic to reduce any possible pain, and the injection sites on your face will be marked with a white pencil.
The areas of the face that the treatment can be used on include:
- Top and bottom eyelid
- Crow’s feet
- Forehead
- The top lip
- Eyebrows
- Nasolabial folds, or smile lines
- Marionette lines in the corner of your mouth
- Upper Cheeks
- Jowl
The specialist will then make a tiny entry in the skin near your ear, and a needle (cannula) will hold and guide the thread through the entry point and into the different layers of your skin. This process will be done several times until your desired results are achieved.
PDO Thread Lift: Results and Recovery
There may be some slight bruising and swelling due to the injections. However, recovery from the procedure takes only 2-3 days to a week, and you can return to work the same day. Due to its non-invasive nature, the procedure will not leave behind any scars. However, you should avoid any dental work for about 2 weeks afterward, and strenuous activity for 2-3 weeks afterward. Contact your healthcare provider if you experience more serious – though rare – side effects, such as an infection or nerve damage.
The PDO threading provides instant results, with optimum results appearing after about 3 months. The PDO threads will stimulate your skin cells, and cause new collagen and blood vessels to form around the threads. Also, the threads cause the fat tissue to contract, tightening the skin on the face. The results of this tightening and rejuvenation process include:
- A reduction in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
- Younger and firmer-looking skin
- Improved blood circulation
- Improved skin tone, texture, pigmentation, and scarring
- Increased skin metabolism
- Activation of the lymphatic circulation
- Brightened skin
After about 6-8 months, the PDO threads will harmlessly dissolve, but they will leave behind a prolonged rejuvenation effect that will last about 2-3 years.

Overweight and Obesity Treatment
Carrying too much body fat can increase your risk for a variety of health complications. Heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure and many other conditions can be directly linked to being overweight.
Everyone probably feels like they would like to lose a pound or two at some time, but being overweight is more than that. Being overweight indicates you may need to lose significant weight to get your body healthy and lower your risk for health issues.
Find out if you are overweight now: call (718) 576-3792 or contact us online.
Am I Overweight?
Most health providers today calculate your Body Mass Index (BMI) and use this number to determine whether you are in a healthy weight range or need to lose weight. BMI uses your weight in kilograms and multiplies it by your height to calculate a result. This result is then compared to a chart that shows weight ranges. According to the Centers for Disease Control, the range is:
- Less than 18.5 = underweight
- 18.5-24.9 = normal weight
- 25.0-29.9 = overweight
- 30.0 and above =obese
BMI results have been shown to be as accurate as other very advanced methods of body fat testing.
Remember that body mass index numbers should be considered individually. For example, women carry more body fat than men, while older adults usually have more fat than younger adults. Athletes with high muscle mass may also weigh more even if they don’t have a lot of body fat – they will still have a high BMI and can be classified as overweight.
None of these factors make it okay to be overweight, but you should talk about your BMI with your healthcare provider just to make sure you understand your own risk factors, how much weight you should lose and what weight loss plan is best for you.
Overweight Health Risks
Being overweight can directly lead to many different health problems and diseases. Some of these problems are caused as a result of the effects that excess fat has on your internal organs, while others are physical problems caused by the extra pounds putting strain on your body.
Health problems associated with being overweight include:
- Type 2 diabetes
- High blood pressure
- Coronary heart disease (CHD)
- Stroke
- Metabolic syndrome
- sleep apnea
- Gallstones
- Depression
- Osteoarthritis
- Menstrual issues and infertility (in women)
- Erectile dysfunction (in men)
The list above represents just a small portion of the many health risks linked to being overweight. Losing weight may drastically reduce your chances of dealing with these issues.
Overweight vs. Obesity
For determining the difference between overweight and obesity, healthcare officials go back to BMI numbers. Carrying too much weight for your height is the key element of both obesity and being overweight – obese men and women carry more.
Here is one more chart that can help. These are weight ranges for a 5’9” adult:
- 124 pounds or less = underweight
- 125-168 pounds = healthy weight
- 169-202 = overweight
- 203 pounds or more = obese
Remember that these numbers are for a 5’9” adult. If you are shorter, you can carry less weight than what’s shown here. If you are taller, you may be able to carry slightly more.

Non-Surgical Nose Job
Your nose defines your face; when the appearance of the nose causes you cosmetic concern—either due to a prominent bump, crookedness or imperfect nose tip—it can be tempting to seek surgical rhinoplasty. However, for those who would like to avoid the invasiveness and higher price tag of a surgical procedure, a non-surgical nose jobcan offer amazing results.
A non-surgical nose job uses injectable biodegradable fillers—like calcium hydroxyapatite or more often hyaluronic acid gel—to address minor nose deformities; even a large nose can be shaped to appear smaller with these techniques.
If you are not a good candidate for traditional rhinoplasty surgery, want to try out a reversible nose job before committing to permanent changes, or are seeking a more affordable solution, consult with a healthcare provider in who specializes in non-surgical nose correction procedures. Call (718) 576-3792 or contact us online.
Who is a Good Candidate for a Non-Surgical Nose Job?
If you have a bump on the bridge of your nose, filler can create the illusion of a perfectly straight nose. If you have a droopy tip, the filler can lift it up. Filler can also correct a sharp angle on slightly crooked noses.
A non-surgical rhinoplasty is an ideal alternative to traditional surgical rhinoplasty for people who:
- Are not good candidates for surgery
- Want to try out the new look before committing to permanent alterations to the nose
- Are looking for a more affordable option to surgery
- Have minor nose deformities which are of cosmetic concern and not affecting the function of the nose
However, noses that are extremely crooked, bumps that are extremely large, noses that are too big with skin that is too thick are not good candidates for non-surgical nose jobs due to the extensiveness of the deformity. In addition, a non-surgical rhinoplasty is not recommended for people who:
- Have allergies to the substances used in manufacturing the filler material
- Are prone to excessive or thick scarring
- Have inflamed or infected skin on or around your nose
- Have a bleeding disorder
- Have a history of anaphylaxis (acute allergic reaction)
- Are allergic to lidocaine (which is often combined with fillers during injection)
- Have specific diseases involving your nasal region
- Have a broken nose
- Have breathing problems that need to be corrected (only surgical rhinoplasty can address breathing problems)
What to Expect from Your Non-Surgical Nose Job Procedure
Because noses come in different sizes and shapes, there are a variety of approaches that may be used to modify the appearance of your nose. You should discuss your expectations with your healthcare provider to determine whether you are a good candidate for injection rhinoplasty.
Prior to your non-surgical nose job, a full medical history and physical examination will be necessary to rule out issues which would make the injection rhinoplasty unsafe for you. If you are deemed a good candidate, your nose and surrounding area will be numbed with a topical anesthetic prior to injection. The filler will be injected in the places on your nose that need to be filled in. If you have a prominent bump on the bridge of your nose, the filler will be injected around the bump and shaped to create a smooth perfect bridge.
Typically billed as a lunchtime procedure, you can return to normal activity immediately following the procedure. For a week or so, you may have some redness or bruising, but you can talk to your healthcare provider about techniques and treatments to reduce its appearance.
With any medical cosmetic procedure, there are risks. Non-surgical nose job side effects include:
- Allergic reaction
- Infection
- Shifting of filler material to a different part of the face
- Unintentional injection into the bloodstream in the face, which can result in vision impairment, blindness, stroke and damage and/or death of the skin (necrosis) and underlying facial structures
Non-Surgical Nose Job: How Long Does it Last?
Cosmetic fillers are normally temporary, lasting from a few months to a couple of years before dissolving and being reabsorbed into your body. Most people seeking non-invasive options to correct their nose shape or size start with a temporary filler to see if they like the changes. The procedure can be repeated using a more permanent filler that will last for many years; however, more permanent fillers usually require multiple procedures.
If you seek a non-invasive procedure to correct your nose shape, injectable fillers may be a solution worth considering. To schedule a consultation with a healthcare provider in who can discuss your surgical and non-surgical options with you, call (718) 576-3792 or contact us online.
Non-Surgical Fat Reduction
Love handles, excess fat and sagging skin are all reasons why many people seek out a fat reduction procedure. In the past, these fat reduction procedures were primarily invasive, surgical procedures such as liposuction. With today’s advanced medical science, there are many non-surgical fat reduction options available.
Would you like to know more about non-surgical fat reduction? Call (718) 576-3792 or contact us online for more information.

Non-surgical fat reduction refers to a large number of methods designed to eliminate excess fat, all without the use of invasive surgery. These procedures may also be called non-invasive fat reduction or non-invasive liposuction.
Providers utilize non-surgical fat reduction to treat a number of aesthetic and cosmetic issues. They include:
- Love handles
- Saddlebags
- Back fat
- Stomach fat
- Neck fat
- Arm fat
- Pelvic fat
- Sagging skin
- Cellulite
- Collagen loss
Not every non-invasive fat reduction can be used to treat each of these methods, and many are specially designed to target just one of these symptoms. The exact results and methods will vary greatly depending on the type of non-surgical fat reductionbeing used.
Types of Non-Surgical Fat Reduction
There are many different types of non-invasive fat reduction. While of all these methods are designed to reduce fat in some way, their methods of action can be extremely different from one another.
Different types of non-surgical fat reduction include:
- Laser fat reduction
- Ultrasound fat reduction
- Mesotherapy
- Laser lipolysis
- Cold therapy
These are just a few of the many different methods of non-surgical fat reduction. As medical science advances, new methods will be continually developed.
How Does Non-Surgical Fat Reduction Work?
Each method of non-surgical fat reduction works in a different way. In general, these procedures target and reduce the size of fat cells. Some of these procedures may even be combined with traditional liposuction, but that is not always the case.
The only way to determine which non-surgical fat reduction method is right for your needs is to speak with a medical healthcare provider. Most non-invasive fat reduction treatment plans begin with a basic consultation to analyze the problem areas and determine the best possible solution.

Mole Removal
Dark or pigmented growths on the skin are referred to commonly as moles. The majority of moles are benign and harmless, if somewhat unsightly. Some skin moles, however, are a sign of major illness and possibly even cancer. Regardless of the severity of the mole, mole removal is a viable option.
If you are interested in in mole removal, call (718) 576-3792 or contact us online.
Do I need a Mole Removal Procedure?
It is very normal to develop one or several moles throughout your lifetime. Moles can occur anywhere on the surface of the skin, and can be flat or raised. It is not uncommon for skin moles to change shape, size and appearance over a lifetime. In cases where a mole is determined to be cancerous or pre-cancerous (which can be determined with a mole biopsy), mole removal surgery is almost always recommend. More often, however, moles are a cosmetic issue.
Many people with prominent moles, particularly in the facial area, feel that the growth takes away from their overall appearance. Mole removal surgery can help rejuvenate your look and eliminate an unsightly growth altogether.
The only way to determine if you are a candidate for mole removal surgery is to schedule a consultation with an experienced medical professional. Despite what you may have heard about natural mole removal or mole removal at home, these methods are unsafe and not recommended for use.
Mole Removal Surgery
Mole removal surgery is a short, efficient procedure. The amount of surgery required and the cost of mole removal are dependent on the amount of moles being removed and the individual nature of your skin. During the procedure:
- Anesthesia is administered
- A small incision is made to remove both the mole itself.
- A small pocket of skin is removed around the mole, to prevent regrowth.
- The incision is stitched up.
Mole removal is most often performed as an outpatient procedure, and features little-to-no recovery time. Because of today’s advanced surgical techniques, the amount of scarring from mole removal surgery is minimal and in many cases, not noticeable at all.

Microdermabrasion Treatment
Commonly referred to as the “lunchtime facelift,” microdermabrasion offers a quick and cost-effective solution to restoring the youthful appearance of skin. This unique skin procedure is used to improve uneven skin color and reduce fine lines that form with age and exposure to the sun.
The microdermabrasion approach is entirely non-invasive, which means the end result is accomplished without the use of needles or other surgical procedures. The procedure is typically pain-free and does not require the use of anesthetics. It is also a much gentler approach to medical-grade exfoliation than traditional dermabrasion. And because it does not rely on chemicals or focused light, the treatment works equally well with all skin types or complexions.
In short, microdermabrasion can be a quick and simple way to rejuvenate the skin, and can improve uneven skin tone or brown spots on the face, chest, neck, arms, or hands.
Benefits and Results
- By removing dead skin cells, microdermabrasion exposes the healthy skin layers beneath giving your skin a soft feel and vibrant glow.
- Lifting away damaged skin, microdermabrasion smoothes away fine lines and uneven skin texture.
- Micro-crystals used in the microdermabrasion procedure can blend away brown spots.
- Suction opens the pores and helps to remove clogs that lead to acne.
- As the medical-grade exfoliation lifts away dead skin cells, it additionally works to stimulate the body’s natural collagen production, resulting in firmer, plumper skin.
Frequently Asked Questions

Patients should avoid tanning and tanning creams for about 7 days before the procedure. Do not use exfoliating creams 3 days prior to your appointment. - What occurs during the microdermabrasion procedure?
- Medical professional goes over the treatment area with a small wand that scours the top layer of skin by spraying it with a fresh supply of micro-fine aluminum oxide crystals.
- The scouring is complemented by a vacuum suction that lifts away the top layer of dead skin cells. This feature of the treatment also serves to pull healthier tissue to the surface.
- Each microdermabrasion session is generally followed by a second skin cleansing to further open the pores and remove any remaining dry skin.
- How long does microdermabrasion take?
The procedure can be performed within the span of an afternoon lunch break. - Is there any down time?
You can typically return to your daily life immediately following the treatment. - Can I continue to use skin care products after the procedure?
It is recommended that clients protect their skin with a combination of moisturizers and sunscreens for a few days following the visit. It is okay to apply makeup the day after. - How often can I have a microdermabrasion performed?
Treatments can be repeated once a week or once a month for as long as the client wishes. - Are there any side effects?
The side effects of microdermabrasion may include a slight redness, similar to a mild sunburn, which often dissipates within 24 hours.
Micro Needling
People are always looking for a way to improve the texture, volume and overall appearance of their skin. One treatment designed to meet those needs is micro needling.
Micro needling utilizes the skin’s natural rejuvenation ability in order to provide youthful and more luscious skin. While home micro needling kits are available, they are considered generally unsafe. Instead, it’s important to receive micro needlingfrom a professional.
Request more information about micro needling treatment today: Call (718) 576-3792 or contact us online.
What is Micro Needling?
Micro needling is a skin rejuvenation procedure. Like all skin rejuvenation procedures, it is used to improve the appearance of the skin.
As a less-invasive skin treatment, micro needling involves no incisions or scarring and is sometimes combined with other aesthetic procedures.
Micro needling has been used to treat:
- Sagging skin
- Fine lines
- Wrinkles
- Redness
- Dull skin
- Eye bags
- Facial aging
- Premature aging
- Sun-damaged skin
Micro needling is typically performed with a small hand piece. This micro needling tool can come in the form of a roller or an automated pen. Home micro needling kits are available, but like any home aesthetics procedure, they are very dangerous to use.
How Does Micro Needling Work?
Typically, micro needling is performed as an outpatient procedure that takes just a few minutes to complete. Micro needlingworks by activating the skin’s natural healing processes. This is done with hundreds of tiny needles, which is how the procedure receives its name.
During micro needling:
- A skin analysis is performed to determine if the procedure is a good match.
- Using either a manual roller or an automated pen, the needles are quickly moved around the skin.
- This creates thousands of tiny punctures in the skin.
- After the procedure is complete, the punctures activate the skin’s natural healing abilities.
- By self-healing, the skin becomes more supple, smooth and youthful.
Micro needling can be used on any skin, but is most commonly used on the face. It’s important to understand that there is some discomfort associated with micro needling; however, the pain is typically describe as mild. Micro needling can be combined with platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy for greater efficacy.
Ultimately, micro needling is a procedure that has many aesthetic applications. While there is no “magic button” to eliminate the effects of aging, micro needling can drastically improve facial skin appearance.

Mesotherapy
Mesotherapy Specialist
Many people struggle with weight loss and fat reduction. Some people seek to lose overall weight, while others deal with tricky fat in certain problem spots. In the past, liposuction has been used in these situations. That treatment, however, can sometimes be painful and may cause bruising, bleeding and scars.
Mesotherapy provides a virtually pain-free and minimally-invasive fat reductionoption for those hoping to lose weight.
If you’re looking for Mesotherapy treatment in , please call (718) 576-3792 or contact us online.
How Mesotherapy Works
Mesotherapy is performed with several small injections at the area where fat will be reduced. Contained in these injections is a combination of medications, vitamins and natural extracts designed to reduce cellulite from the treatment area.
The primary difference between mesotherapy and traditional weight loss surgery is cellulite. Where mesotherapy targets and eliminates tricky, body-misshaping cellulite, liposuction and other surgeries actually make it more visible.
Some mesotherapy injections are even approved for skin tightening, meaning you avoid that often undesirable after-effect of weight loss.
What to Expect from Mesotherapy Treatment in
Mesotherapy appointments are brief and near-painless. Because the needles involved in the procedure are so small, most patients report only a slight stinging sensation. Depending on your personal preference, a numbing cream may be applied to the skin before the procedure.
A typical mesotherapy treatment plan is made up of multiple sessions, which provides consistent results and can be scheduled to fit your needs. Results vary, but some patients see fat-reduction results after just one treatment.
In addition to overall fat reduction, mesotherapy is also ideal for targeting trouble spots such as love handles and saddlebags. Mesotherapy has also been used to treat:
- Sagging skin
- Wrinkles
- Acne
- Stretch marks
- Light scars

Melasma, also known as chloasma or brown spots, is a common skin condition which affects various parts of the face, including the cheeks, nose, forehead and chin. Characterized by dark, discolored patches which range in color from brown to gray, melasma can cause great cosmetic concern for women.
If you suffer from melasma, there are treatments available to help fade the discoloration and preventative steps you can take to prevent recurrences. To schedule a consultation with a skin care professional in that specializes in melasma treatment, call (718) 576-3792 or contact us online.
Melasma Causes
90 percent of melasma sufferers are women. While its causes are not completely understood, there are several factors which appear to trigger melasma development. Potential melasma causes include:
- Sun exposure: Considered the main cause of melasma, the ultraviolet rays you are exposed to from prolonged sun exposure affect the cells which control the pigment of your skin (melanocytes), leading to melasma development.
- Pregnancy and other hormonal changes: When melasma occurs in pregnancy, it is often referred to as the “mask of pregnancy” and is attributed to hormonal changes—particularly changes in estrogen and progesterone—which occur during fetal development. Melasma can also occur from hormonal changes caused by birth control pills or hormone medication.
- Skin irritations: Topical skin care products or skin treatments which irritate your skin could cause melanin production and worsen melasma.
A family history of melasma may increase your risk of developing melasma, along with having a darker skin tone.
Melasma Removal & Prevention
If melasma is triggered by pregnancy or birth control medication, it often disappears on its own when hormone levels stabilize. In other instances, your healthcare provider can provide several different treatment options to aid in melasma removal. Your treatment plan could include:
- Topical creams: Often first-line treatment for melasma, topical creams containing hydroquinone are utilized to lighten the skin. More potent hydroquinone products require a prescription, and are applied several times daily to brown spots. Sunscreen application should always follow the hydroquinone product.
- Topical steroids: Used in more severe cases, or when hydroquinone alone fails to lighten melasma spots, corticosteroids can be used to help lighten skin (either on their own or in conjunction with hydroquinone application).
- Chemical peel: There are several types of chemical peels your healthcare provider may recommend to treat melasma; however, chemical peels containing glycolic acid are most popular due to its ability to lighten the skin. A chemical peel will cause the top layer of your skin to peel off, revealing healthier, more even-toned skin underneath.
- Microdermabrasion or dermabrasion: Vacuum suction and a small wand with aluminum oxide crystals lift away the top layer of dead skin cells to improve the appearance of melasma. This form of melasma treatment often requires multiple treatments.
To prevent melasma, it is important to protect your skin from the sun’s harmful rays. This means wearing sunscreen every day or a wide-brimmed hat and limiting your time in the sun. Unfortunately, other triggers of melasma are hard to avoid. Make sure you choose gentle skin care products which do not cause irritation to the skin.
If the brown spots of melasma are causing you concern, meet with a healthcare provider in who can help you effectively treat your facial concerns. Call (718) 576-3792 or contact us online.
Low Libido
A decrease in sex drive is a condition that is unique in the fact that there is no definitive way to monitor it. Doctors have no gauge for what a “normal” sex drive should be, so it is defined differently with each and every patient whether they’re a man or a woman.
Only you can define what your natural desire for sexual relations should be, and as a result, only you can decide when it’s time to seek the help of a qualified professional.
If you’ve noticed a decrease in your libido, it could be due to a number of factors. The solution may be simple, as in the case where the culprit is a side effect from a medication you were prescribed. It could be the result of the physical and mental anguish that comes with dealing with an unrelated chronic pain, or it may be hormonal.
Low Libido in Women
It may be difficult for a woman to determine what is causing her loss of libido, because it is difficult to monitor when a loss actually occurs. Simply not wanting sex as often as your partner doesn’t necessarily mean you’re sex drive is lacking, although if you’re desire is less than you think it should be, it may be time to contact someone for help.
Whether the cause is physical, psychological, or hormonal, an experienced doctor can develop a treatment plan that restores your vigor to a level that meets your expectations.
Some physical and psychological causes for a diminished libido include:
- Pain during sex
- A preexisting condition such as arthritis, cancer, diabetes, or high blood pressure
- Side effects from medication
- Fatigue
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Stress
- Issues with your self-esteem
A diminished sex drive can also be caused by a drop in hormone levels. This can be due to natural phases of life such as menopause or breast feeding, or an unexpected hormonal imbalances. In the case of an imbalance, bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) may be considered as a treatment option.
Low Libido in Men
Some people think that men should have no problem with their sex drive, and because of this, many men suffering from a diminished libido may keep the problem to themselves. The reality is that many men are suffering from the condition but may be too embarrassed to ask for help. The first step in treatment is to admit there is a problem. While there is no standard measurement for a healthy male sex drive, you have the power to determine when it isn’t what you think it should be.
There are a number of treatable factors that can lower your sex drive. Some of these include:
- Side effects from medications such as antidepressants or drugs for high blood pressure
- Poor sleep habits
- Stress
- Erectile dysfunction
- Fatigue
- Drug or alcohol abuse
- Low testosterone

If you feel that you may be suffering from a loss of sex drive, your doctor may recommend that you keep a log of your experiences as well as any questions you may have. This information is vital in helping determine a unique path to helping you improve your condition.
Treatment plans may be a combination of lifestyle coaching, medical examinations and hormone therapy (BHRT).
How to Lose Love Handles
Certain parts of the body accumulate more fat than others. One of the most prominent areas of excess fat is the abdominal region, which has given life to the term abdominal obesity. There are many different names for types of abdominal obesity. One of the most common is love handles.
Want to know how to get rid of love handles? Call (718) 576-3792 or contact us online for more information!
What are Love Handles?
“Love handles” is a slang term for pockets of excess fat that sit at the sides of the body. Other terms for this type of fat include saddlebags and back fat. Love handles are unsightly and may even restrict the types of clothes that you feel comfortable wearing.
Love handles can occur in both men and women.
Often, love handles may even appear in someone who maintains proper diet and exercise habits. That’s what makes love handles a form of problem fat: they may not respond to the traditional methods of treatment or lifestyle changes.
What Causes Love Handles?
There is generally no one cause of love handles, but instead many contributing factors. Causes of love handles include:
- Poor diet
- Lack of exercise
- Genetic predisposition
- Excess alcohol consumption
- Lack of sleep
- Pregnancy weight gain
- Thyroid issues
- Certain medications
Depending on the individual case, the love handles may be caused by just one of these factors or many of them. The individual cause of love handles varies from person to person.
While love handles themselves are not a cause for medical concern, they are most often a sign of obesity or abdominal obesity, which may lead to a number of serious health concerns.
Treatment for Love Handles
In most cases love handles are treatable. Despite what you may have read, targeted exercise will not necessarily eliminate love handles. While doing exercises for love handles will build the muscles around the area, there is no way for exercise or dieting to eliminate fat from one specific area of the body.
Because of this, many love handle treatments are available. Different types of love handle treatment include:
- Liposuction
- Laser fat reduction like SculpSure
- Fat freezing fat reduction like CoolSculpting
- Ultrasound fat reduction like Ultherapy
- Mesotherapy
- Medical weight loss
- Radiofrequency technology like Profound
These represent just a small portion of the many different ways to get rid of love handles and most providers will not offer all methods. The only way to determine which method is right for your needs is to work closely with an experienced professional.

What is Excess Fat?

Types of excess fat include:
- Belly fat (stomach fat)
- Back fat
- Neck fat
- Thigh fat
- Buttocks
- Arm fat
Some people simply struggle with one area of their body, and that area may not respond to traditional fat reduction methods such as diet and exercise. Excess fat is referred to by many other names, some of which are hurtful or derogatory. Some common terms for excess fat include:
- Love handles
- Saddlebags
- Paunches
- Belly
- Jowls
- Gut
- Spare tire
- Fat bulges
Thankfully, in many cases, these issues can be treated.
How to Get Rid of Excess Fat?
There are numerous excess fat treatment options available. They range from minor to major, much like any other treatment category. They are often referred to as fat reduction procedures. These procedures are not a substitute for diet and exercise, which can eliminate much of the fat from the body.
Instead, these procedures are designed to target the areas of problem fat that cause many people self-confidence and body image issues. Different types of fat reduction treatment include:
- Liposuction
- Non-invasive fat reduction
- Non-surgucal fat reduction
- Laser fat reduction
- Ultrasound fat reduction
- Cold therapy fat reduction
There are a wide variety of options available, only a professional can help determine which one is right for your needs and body. Just as each person is different, two people may have varying results with the same treatment option.

Lipotropic Injections
Some of us have that little bit of fat that just won’t disappear, no matter how much we exercise or diet. While a little bit of fat is normal, fat in undesirable places may cause low self-esteem. In order to remove this excess fat, some people may go to drastic actions, such as extreme diets or surgical procedures.
Lipotropic injections, known also as lipo injections, are a non-invasive treatment that both men and women can consider in a weight-loss program. When used with diet and exercise, these injections can be used to increase energy and metabolism, build muscle, and burn fat.
To make an appointment with a qualified lipotropic injection specialist in , call (718) 576-3792 or contact us online.
What Are Lipotropic Injections?
The term lipotropics (whose roots literally mean “fat loving”) refers to the compounds used to break down and remove fats in the liver. Lipotropic injections are used to dissolve excessive body fat in areas of the body like the stomach, inner thighs, neck, buttocks and hips.
The amino acids in lipotropic injections can help you lose weight by stimulating the liver and metabolism processes. Lipo injections differ from liposuction because while liposuction is invasive and removes excess fat from the body, lipotropic injections help dissolve body fat by aiding the metabolism through non-invasive shots.
The fat burners that exist in these weight-loss injections can include:
Vitamin B12
Vitamin B12 is one of the most well-known components of lipotropic treatment. B12 is an important part of cellular metabolism, and plays a role in multiple components of your well-being. These vitamin injections are often given to those who have issues with energy and metabolism.
Choline
Choline is an essential compound in fat metabolism. It?s an amino acid used to export fat from the liver to be burned for fuel. This detoxifies the liver, and is vital to the function and protection of the liver.
Methionine
Methionine is an amino acid that also assists in preventing a buildup of excess fat in the liver. Methionine deactivates estrogen, which increase bile cholesterol; this detoxifies the liver and prevents healthy function.
Inositol
The amino acid inositol is used to breakdown fats in the body. It is also important in treating mood disorders. Inositol is often used in combination with other lipotropic compounds to boost fat metabolism and often doubles as a mood booster.
Weight Loss Injections available in :
There are numerous kinds of lipotropic injections that one can receive, each with their own benefits besides medical weight loss. These injections can include:
M.I.C. Injections
M.I.C. stands for methionine, inositol, and choline. Methionine is the amino acid that promotes liver health, and also helps with healing. Inositol is a B12 compound that helps with fat loss, improves mental clarity, and helps improve cognitive function. Choline is an essential nutrient for our brains.
Vitamin B12 Injections
A combination of methionine, choline, and inositol are often mixed into a formula of vitamin B12 to provide a balanced, maximally effective lipotropic treatment. Vitamin B12 injections are mostly used to increase stamina levels.
Lipo10, Lipolean, or Lipo-B Injections
These shots are the same as M.I.C. injections, but with the addition of vitamins B1, B2, B3, and B6, as well as chromium and L-Carnitine. Lipo-B injections will provide you with a jolt of energy and improved mental clarity.
Myoden
Though not widely sold anymore, this injection uses a combination of adenosine monophosphate (AMP) and Vitamin B12. This injection provides increased stamina and encourages muscle contraction.
Lipoden
Similar to the B12 injections, but with Myoden added. If you have stopped losing weight, it may provide you with the energy needed to help you restart again.
Arginine/Carnitine Combo
A powerful amino acid blend that will help you burn more body fat with increased energy levels.
Receiving Lipotropic Injections
Talk with a healthcare provider at a weight-loss clinic about the dosage and number of injections that you may need to reach your weight-loss goals. Generally speaking, lipo injections can be administered up to twice a week; do not administer two doses at the same time. The injections should be administered into intramuscular sites, which can include the hip, upper arm, abdomen, or buttock. It is best to use different injection sites now and then to minimize pain and inflammation. Lidocaine may be used to decrease burning around the injection site.
Benefits of Loptropic Injections
Depending on what the solution made of, lipo injections may provide you with many different benefits, such as:
- Decreased bad cholesterol levels
- Improved mood
- Increased thought process
- Increased liver health
- Improved immune health
- Decreased appetite, as lipo injections can act as appetite suppressants
- Improved skin tone and hair and nail health
The amount of weight loss caused by lipo injections may vary from patient to patient.

Laser Vein Removal Procedure
What to do With Small Veins?
Small veins may develop anywhere on the body and often make those who have them feel self-conscious. Small veins can be distracting and unsightly, which is why removing them is quickly becoming a popular response.
Spider veins are some of the most commonly removed small veins. These are tiny dilated veins (often resembling spider legs) which appear frequently in children and pregnant women. These veins commonly appear in the legs and are caused by an increase of pressure which makes them swell and become highly visible. Because most small veins pose little or no health risks, removal is often only for cosmetic reasons.
Benefits of Laser Vein Removal
Laser vein removal is one of the most popular options for treating small or spider veins. The speediness of the treatment and minimal inconvenience are a large part of its popularity—the procedure itself often takes less than half an hour.
Most patients will be able to resume normal activities immediately following the procedure, hypothetically allowing you to schedule vein removal on a lunch break. It is common to receive multiple laser treatments over the course of several weeks to further reduce the visibility of the vein.
Laser Vein Removal Procedure
During the procedure, a tiny laser will be focused on the vein. This heats the vein to remove it without damaging the surrounding areas. Many lasers use a cooling system to keep the tip of the laser form becoming too hot. One common precaution is to wear protective eyewear, as lasers may cause damage when pointed at the eyes.
During the procedure, you may feel minor tingling with the possibility of light bruising. Mild anesthesia is often available but is rarely requested. You may feel a slight bump or see some redness in the area of the vein in the hours following the procedure.
Before & After Laser Vein Removal
Your healthcare provider will encourage you to avoid alcohol, aspirin, or sun exposure immediately before and after the laser vein removal procedure. It is also often advisable to stop smoking one week prior to the procedure—though no one will yell at you stopping altogether. The skin should be clean of all lotions, creams, and cosmetics before receiving laser vein removal treatment.
Laser vein removal is a quick, easy, and popular option for removing small unsightly veins. It is safe and relatively painless, making it a fantastic choice for those adverse to cosmetic treatments. Request more information about laser vein removal today. Call (718) 576-3792 or contact us online.

Kybella Injections
What is Kybella?
FDA-approved Kybella™ is a prescription injectable designed to mimic something your body already makes called deoxycholic acid, which helps absorb fats. This procedure is used exclusively to reduce the fat under the chin. Until this injectable was developed, those who wanted to reduce a double chin—medically known as submental fullness—would undergo a liposuction procedure. Kybella is a quick, effective, nonsurgical fat-melting procedure than can be performed in less than half an hour.
Many men and women have double chins that they would like to get rid of. Double chins can occur even if a person is not otherwise overweight, and they tend to make a person seem heavier than he or she actually is. Submental fat is generally believed to be caused by genetics, natural aging, or weight gain.
Kybella is an injectable that is comparable to other injectable solutions, but unlike other double-chin treatments, Kybella is permanent—it destroys fat cells and can improves the overall contour of the neck and jawline forever.
How Does Kybella Work?
The active ingredient in Kybella is deoxycholic acid, which is naturally present in the body and plays a key role in managing fats. However, when used in Kybella, this acid works to safely break down the membranes of fat cells to start the body’s natural healing process and removes them from the treatment area. This procedure is different than losing weight because Kybella permanently destroys the fat cells rather than shrinking them.
Kybella is provided in single-patient-use vials and should not be mixed or diluted. During a treatment, the patient will be given a local anesthetic to numb the injection area. To apply Kybella, the physician will create a grid of dots targeting the fat under the chin. He or she then performs about 10 to 20 injections in one session. Multiple injections are necessary to deliver Kybella to the site as evenly as possible so the gradual shrinking of the double chin looks natural.
A limit of six such treatments, no less than one month apart, is permissible. The treatment plan is tailored to the desired outcome by the physician, and it varies depending on each patient’s situation. When properly injected by a trained professional, Kybella has been shown to dissolve submental fat and result in significant cosmetic improvement by creating a more streamlined contour along the jawline. Patients may experience some bruising, redness and swelling around the injection sites for up to a week after the procedure.
Who is a Candidate for Kybella?
According to the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, seven out of 10 people—men and women—are frustrated with submental fullness. Although the chin and neck are frequently overlooked by patients who seek to cosmetically enhance their appearance, these features function as an important frame for the face and can dramatically improve the way you look. The presence of submental fat, whether due to genetics, diet, aging or some combination thereof can add the impression of both years and pounds to a person’s face.
Because there are no targeted exercises to get rid of a double chin—and even patients who are not overweight can have a double chin—Kybella is a great option for men and women of all ages. The time required to complete the procedure is about 15 to 20 minutes, and patients can return to work or their daily routines immediately afterward. Patients typically start seeing results within a couple of weeks.

Juvederm Voluma XC Injections
Injectable treatments are one of the most popular aesthetic options available today. Until recently, there have been no FDA-approved injectable treatments designed to correct the loss of facial volume. The new treatment Juvederm Voluma XC has been FDA- approved for that, and more.
Request more information about Juvederm Voluma today: call (718) 576-3792 or contact us online.
What is Juvederm Voluma XC?
Juvederm Voluma XC is a new injectable treatment from the creators of BOTOX and Juvederm. Like those treatments, it is administered sub-dermally through a small injection. Unlike those two treatments, however, Juvederm Voluma XC is used to combat volume loss in the cheeks of the face.
As aging and gravity take their toll, the face begins to lose volume. This is due to the loss of naturally occurring substances such as hyaluronic acid (HA). When volume is lost from the face, it leads to:
- Sunken features
- Wrinkles
- Folds
- A generally “older” look
Most other dermal fillers and smoothing gels are not approved to treat the loss of facial volume. Instead, they are designed to treat issues such as fine lines and nasolabial folds (smile lines).
Juvederm Voluma XC is FDA-approved to treat age-related volume loss in the cheek area of adults 21-and-over.
How Does Juvederm Voluma XC Work?
Juvederm Voluma XC is injected into the cheek area, also referred to as the mid-face. Juvederm Voluma XC contains two solutions designed to boost facial volume:
- Hyaluronic acid (HA)
- A mild painkiller
In essence, Juvederm Voluma XC is a volumiser. After the treatment, which takes just a few minutes, many patients typically see fuller and rounder facial features, which provide an altogether more youthful look. Unlike other fillers, Voluma was designed specifically for this purpose.
Juvederm Voluma XC features very few side-effects, although some minor swelling is to be expected. This will typically subside in two to four weeks. The effects of Juvederm Voluma XC should last around 18 months, repeat treatments are available.
Juvederm Voluma Before & After Photos

Juvederm Volbella XC Injections
Our smile is one of our greatest qualities. Unfortunately, our skin changes with age, and these changes can be quite noticeable on our faces. Thinner lips, upper lip lines, and downturned lip corners can make us appear older and more tired than we really are.
Thankfully, Juvederm Volbella XC injections provide a minimally invasive and long-lasting solution. To learn more about Volbella XC injections and find a provider in , call (718) 576-3792 or contact us online.
What is Juvederm Volbella XC?
Juvederm Volbella XC is a gel that is injected into the lips. This gel can make your lips look fuller (lip augmentation), and also smooth the perioral lines (lipstick lines) around your mouth. Through these cosmetic changes, the goal of the treatment is to help make you look younger and healthier. The injections have been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and the treatment can be administered to individuals 21 years or older.
Volbella vs Voluma and Vollure
Both Volbella, Voluma, and Vollure are all created by the company Juvederm and are made from hyaluronic acid molecules. Due to the similarity of their names, it can be easy to confuse one with the other. The key to differentiating between the three involves understanding both the unique properties of each gel and which gel is ideal for a given cosmetic procedure.
Volbella gel is a blend of hyaluronic acids, a natural substance found in our bodies. This gel is smoother than other dermal fillers, which is why it is able to make your lips feel soft. The gel is also thin, making it easily able to spread and fill fine lip lines and smooth the delicate areas under the eyes. It is the most thin and spreadable of Juvederm’s dermal filler gels.
Voluma is different from Volbella and Volbella XC because Voluma is a thicker and stronger gel that is perfect for adding volume to the cheeks.
Vollure is less thick than Voluma, but thicker than Volbella; a “happy medium” between the two. It is excellent for smoothing the nasolabial folds (“laugh lines” or “smile lines”).
Talk with your healthcare provider about your cosmetic goals to help decide which of the three is right for you.
Juvederm Volbella XC Procedure
The Juvederm Volbella XC procedure usually takes 15 to 60 minutes. Your appointment will consist of a number of Volbella injections into and around your lip, and while the amount of Volbella you receive will depend on your desired results, it will usually not exceed two .55 cc syringes. The gel is also mixed with lidocaine, which reduces your pain sensitivity and helps to make the injections more comfortable. As a result, the lidocaine removes the need for an anesthetic.
Volbella XC Results
The effects of Juvederm Volbella XC can be seen immediately after the injections and last for up to a year. Immediate benefits may of the injections may include:
- Restored lip volume
- Better defined lip contours
- Smoother upper lip lines
- Refilled corners of mouth
- Enhanced cupid’s bow
While the treatment does not require any downtime, you should avoid strenuous exercise and sun exposure for 24 hours after the injections. The most common side effects of the injections can be seen at the injection sites, and may include:
- Tenderness
- Swelling
- Firmness
- Lumps or bumps
- Bruising
- Pain
- Redness

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Vein Removal
Varicose and spider veins are an unsightly, difficult health issue. But it’s not hopeless: intense pulsed light therapy or IPL, provides a safe, non-invasive solution. If you’re considering IPL vein removal, please call (718) 576-3792 or contact us online.
Symptoms of Varicose and Spider Veins
Before deciding on treatment options, it’s crucial to identify the nature of your issue. Varicose and spider veins are enlarged, twisting veins that can cause pain. They will often appear to be blue or red, but may also be flesh colored.
Some of the common symptoms of varicose veins include:
- Aches
- Pains
- Swelling
- Rashes
- Restless legs
If you’re experiencing these symptoms and think IPL treatment may be for you, please call (718) 576-3792 or contact us online.
Why Seek Varicose and Spider Vein Treatment
Damaged veins, in addition to an unpleasant look, can lead to a number of serious health issues. These include:
- Sores
- Skin ulcers
- Bleeding
- Deep vein thrombosis (blood clots)
These problems can be reduced or avoided through IPL therapy.
How IPL Treatment Works
Short blasts of powerful light permeate the top layer of your skin, removing blemishes and eliminating broken capillaries. IPL sessions are very low pain, with most describing the mild heat sensation as being similar to a rubber band “flicking” your skin.
Treating veins with intense pulsed light typically takes several appointments, so it’s best to start as soon as possible.
Benefits of IPL Vein Treatment
Like all medical procedures, IPL vein removal carries risks and benefits. The benefits of IPL therapy make it a worthwhile choice for vein removal.
Intense pulsed light treatment is:
- Minimally invasive: No cuts or incisions necessary.
- Quick: A single IPL session lasts around a half hour.
- Versatile: IPL therapy can treat multiple conditions simultaneously.
- Powerful: IPL can treat large areas of skin in a single session.
- Easy: A typical treatment cycle consists of three to six appointments.
These are a handful of the many reasons intense pulsed light therapy is a popular option for varicose vein removal.
If the cells are being harvested from adipose tissues, they come from sub-dermal layer mini liposuction. This procedure is a similar, but gentler, version of liposuction. The samples are placed in a centrifuge which spins them around at high velocities to separate out the stem cells. These cells will then be reintroduced to your body through a series of sessions spread out over several weeks.
What to Know Before Treatment
IPL vein removal is a safe, effective procedure. Nonetheless, it’s necessary to keep a few things in mind before starting your sessions. It’s important to let your doctor or technician know of any pre-existing skin conditions, so the procedure can be adjusted to best suit your needs. Similarly, ultraviolet exposure from the sun or tanning beds can interfere with the rejuvenating IPL procedure.
Heavy amounts of direct UV exposure and heat should be avoided immediately following your IPL treatment. Good skin care can make a positive impact in the days and weeks following your procedure.

IPL Skin Rejuvenation
As you age, so too does your facial appearance; in fact, it is often your face which reveals the first visible signs of aging, such as the development of fine lines, wrinkles, age spots, uneven tone, sun damage or loss of volume. Your environment, lifestyle choices (such as nutrition and sun exposure), as well as your genetic makeup and certain skin conditions can influence the rate at which your face ages.
Fortunately, facial rejuvenation can help to restore a smooth, even-toned, fresh, youthful appearance to your face. While there are many different types of treatments and procedures which aim to repair damaged or aging skin, intense pulsed light (IPL) therapy is an effective, non-invasive facial treatment chosen by many healthcare professionals for its ability to transform the appearance of aging skin.
Also referred to as photorejuvenation or a photofacial, an IPL treatment exposes your face to a broad spectrum of light energy to create controlled injury to the skin that triggers a wound-healing response to stimulate collagen growth and cell regeneration. IPL can pinpoint problem areas without disturbing healthy tissue or damaging other blood vessels.

Will an IPL Facial Treatment Rejuvenate My Skin?
An IPL facial treatment is an ideal choice for many men and women looking to improve their facial appearance and protect it from both aging and many troubling skin conditions. In addition to helping minimize or remove wrinkles, fine lines, ages spots and brown spots, IPL skin treatment can help to address skin conditions or skin concerns such as:
- Rosacea
- Acne
- Birthmarks
- Freckles
- Skin discoloration and pigmentation
- Unsightly blood vessels and veins
IPL treatment is particularly effective for men and women with fair skin. Individuals with darker skin and higher melanin levels face the risk of pigmentation complications with IPL treatments. Your healthcare provider will discuss whether or not IPL skin rejuvenation will benefit your skin type during an initial skin consultation.
What Can I Expect from My IPL Facial Rejuvenation Treatment?
An initial consultation to evaluate the health of your skin—and any issues which might preclude IPL treatments—will usually precede an IPL session. You should have a list of questions prepared for your healthcare provider at this first appointment, along with a list of your skincare concerns and what you hope to achieve through treatment. If you are a candidate for IPL treatment, your healthcare provider will discuss how many treatments you will need; typically 3-5 treatments are necessary depending upon the extent of facial aging or the current state of your skin health. These treatments should be spread out with a minimum of 3 weeks between each session.
On the day of your IPL skin treatment, you will be provided with protective eyewear, as IPL emits an extremely bright light. Anesthetics are not normally necessary, but if you have sensitive skin, sometimes a topical anesthetic may be applied to your skin, or a cooling gel, which helps to reduce the sensation of heat from the IPL device.
Your healthcare provider will then use a hand piece held above the areas of your skin that need rejuvenation. The hand piece emits precisely calibrated, multi-spectrum light waves. The light waves penetrate skin tissue and are absorbed by hemoglobin or melanin, heating it to stimulate the body’s natural repair processes which work to break down and remove them without damaging surrounding tissue.
You will likely experience a mild stinging sensation during treatment; many people describe this as the snapping of a rubber band over the skin. Each session typically lasts 15-30 minutes.
After the IPL session, you may experience slight redness that should fade within an hour. In some cases, there can be a mild burning sensation—similar to a sunburn—that normally fades within a couple of days. There is absolutely no downtime or recovery period with IPL, but your healthcare provider may recommend you avoid sun exposure 48 hours before and after each treatment. While some people experience results immediately after their first session, your results may gradually appear over the course of several treatments. Your IPL therapy may be done in conjunction with other skin care treatments to enhance your appearance further.
If you are faced with damaged or aging skin, IPL therapy is a safe and effective aging skin treatment which can revitalize your appearance. Request more information about facial rejuvenation with an IPL photofacial today. Call (718) 576-3792 or contact us online.
Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Hair Removal
Hair removal can boost your confidence and provide the sleek look you’ve always wanted. Intense pulsed light, or IPL, provides a safe way to permanently reduce pesky body hair. If you’re interested in taking the first step toward IPL hair removal, please call (718) 576-3792 or contact us online.
How IPL Hair Removal Works
During IPL sessions, powerful bursts of light target the pigment melanin, which promotes hair growth. By eliminating melanin in the hair bulb, the treatment ceases growth and removes visible hair.
Fully removing hair takes anywhere from five to 12 sessions, so the best course of action is to contact a doctor and start treatment soon.
Why Choose IPL Hair Removal
Whether you’re seeking the perfect bikini line or simply tired of shaving, there are plenty of reasons to choose intense pulsed light treatment. IPL hair removal has shown to be:
- Minimally invasive: No cuts or incisions necessary.
- Quick: A single IPL session lasts around a half hour.
- Powerful: IPL can eliminate a large amount of hair in a single session.
- Permanent: By targeting active hair roots, IPL therapy stops growth at the source.
- Easy: A typical treatment cycle consists of approximately 5 to 12 appointments.
It’s easy to see why pulsed light therapy remains a popular option for hair removal.
What to Expect from IPL Hair Removal
Pain is hardly an issue with IPL hair removal. The machines used for the procedure can be adjusted to higher or lower wavelengths, depending on the amount of hair and your skin sensitivity. Most describe the heat sensation of an IPL session as no more painful than a rubber band “flicking” your skin.
Before IPL Hair Removal Treatment
Before starting your sessions, it’s crucial to warn your doctor or technician of any existing skin conditions, which can be exacerbated by the IPL treatment. The more information you provide, the better treatment can be tailored to suit your needs.
Likewise, make sure to avoid tweezing and plucking hair prior to your sessions. Growing out the hair you would like to have removed provides a clearer “target” for your treatment.
After IPL Hair Removal Treatment
After your sessions, limit your direct exposure to heat and sunlight, whether artificial or natural. Taking care to wear sunscreen and shield the areas that received treatment can go a long way toward a more pleasant recovery.
After treatment, it’s important to avoid:
- Skin creams
- Hot water, such as a sauna
- Chlorinated pools and hot tubs
- Perfumes, rubs or moisturizers

Infrared Cellulite Treatment
Cellulite can be one of the hardest physical flaws to get rid of. Its dimpled appearance can show up regardless of how much you exercise or diet. For decades, the only solutions for getting rid of cellulite involved ineffective creams or invasive surgical procedures. In recent years, however, advances in infrared technologies have offered a bright spot in the fight against cellulite.
Not only is infrared cellulite treatment non-invasive, but there is absolutely no recovery time after the treatment. The infrared cellulite reduction process is almost entirely pain-free, with most clients describing it as feeling similar to a “warm deep tissue massage.”
Improvements can typically be seen after only a single half hour treatment, with lasting results evident after four to six sessions. Over 3.5 million infrared cellulite reduction treatments performed worldwide have proven its effectiveness. Today, over 10,000 new patients discover infrared cellulite reduction every day.
What can Infrared Cellulite Reduction do for you?
Doctors have raved about the wonders of infrared cellulite reduction on a plethora of media outlets. It has been featured on Dr. Phil and The View, and some devices such as the VelaShape II by Syneron have been already cleared by the FDA.
The main goal of infrared cellulite reduction is to reduce or eliminate the appearance of cellulite or lumpy skin, replacing it with a smooth and youthful skin surface.
There are other benefits of infrared cellulite reduction:
- Clients have reported an average of 1 inch total lost from their waistline and other problem areas. Some have even lost up to 3 inches.
- Infrared cellulite treatment contours the body by eliminating unwanted lumps, bumps, and bulges to reveal your beautiful form beneath.
What causes cellulite to form?
Factors that cause cellulite productions are in most cases outside of your control.
The body’s natural hormones such as estrogen, insulin, noradrenaline, thyroid hormones, and prolactin play a role in creating cellulite.
Some of the genes you inherit, such as an underproductive circulatory system, slow metabolism, or the way your body stores fat beneath the skin, can create the unwelcome dimples in your skin.
How does Infrared Cellulite Treatment work?
- Infrared light is focused onto the problem areas where it is absorbed into the skin as heat.
- The heat increases the natural metabolism of adipose tissues (fat cells), breaking them down through lipolysis, and shrinking the fat chambers.
- Some infrared devices complement the focused light by additionally blasting fat tissues with bi-polar radio frequencies.
- Certain machines also incorporate vacuum suction and mechanical rollers to stimulate the skin as it is immersed in IR and RF frequencies.
- This mechanical manipulation improves circulation and lymphatic drainage to help the body naturally dispose of the metabolized fat cells.
- The combination of all four techniques tightens collagen, leaving skin surfaces smooth and taut.
Infrared Body Wrapping
Infrared heat has many different uses, despite being entirely invisible to the naked eye. Recently, many people have begun to enjoy the benefits of infrared light and heat for detoxification and fat-reduction purposes. This is known as infrared body wrapping.
Request more information about infrared body wrapping today: Call (718) 576-3792or contact us online.
What is Infrared Body Wrapping?
Infrared body wrapping is an aesthetic and detoxification treatment. This treatment can be administered by an aesthetician, doctor, technician or nearly any other medical provider. Infrared body wrapping utilizes special “wraps” that administer safe and painless amounts of infrared heat.
Infrared body wrapping has been used to treat:
- Excess cellulite
- Excess fat
- Muscle spasms
- Chronic pain
- Joint pain
- Dry skin
- Loose skin
- Toxicity
- Slow metabolism
- Fibromyalgia
- Low blood circulation
All of these issues are believed to be soothed through the delicate heat of an infrared body wrap. It is believed that the heat from the wrapping technique stimulates the body systems to provide the desired result. Infrared body wrapping can be adjusted to multiple wavelengths depending on the issue being treated and the individual needs of the patient.
How Does Infrared Body Wrapping Work?
A typical infrared body wrapping appointment takes about an hour and features virtually no pain. During the infrared body wrapping, one of many different infrared light machines can be used. These machines deliver consistent, safe amounts of infrared heat to the body. Depending on the machine, this process can be done sitting, standing or, most commonly, lying down.
During the treatment itself:
- Infrared heat penetrates the body, roughly 1 – 2 inches deep depending on the wavelength
- The infrared heat stimulates the body, causing sweating and detoxification
- When used for fat reduction, the infrared light targets and “melts away” fat cells in order to produce the desired results
- Collagen growth is stimulated, which tightens the skin and reduces the appearance of cellulite
- By sweating, the body removes unnecessary “water weight” and may actually burn calories
Many people find the infrared body wrapping process to be relaxing and invigorating, not dissimilar to visiting a sauna. Before and after the treatment, it is crucial to hydrate in order to compensate for the large amount of water expelled by the body. Many people choose to receive multiple infrared body wrapping treatments in order to boost the results.
Infrared body wrapping features absolutely no downtime or recovery, as it is completely non-invasive. Some people even choose to receive the procedure during a lunch break and return to work the same day!

Increase Collagen Production
Collagen—a word derived from the Greek word “kolla,” meaning glue—is a protein found in fibrous tissues of the body such as ligaments, tendons and skin. There are 22 identified types of collagen, each with a unique structure of amino acids and different functions, but most of your body is made up of Types I, II and III. Type I collagen fibrils, gram for gram, are stronger than steel.
In your skin, collagen is located in the dermis layer, helping maintain skin elasticity and firmness. However, as your skin ages, your body produces less and less collagen. You see the results of this decline in collagen production in your outward appearance, with wrinkles and skin sagging often aging you past your chronological age.
Lifestyle factors like poor diet, smoking and excess sun exposure can exacerbate collagen loss, contributing to rapid aging of the face. Stimulating new collagen growth and controlling your lifestyle to promote healthy skin overall can improve your facial appearance and slow down facial aging.
To schedule a consultation with a skincare professional in that can help you increase collagen production in your skin, call (718) 576-3792 or contact us online.
How to Stimulate Collagen Production
Collagen production begins in one of two ways: externally through topical creams and treatments or internally through your body’s production of it. Topical collagen beauty products are frequently touted as a fountain of youth, but they probably should not be at the top of your list of ways to increase collagen production. Collagen molecules are too large to be absorbed through the skin. The best methods are those that stimulate endogenous collagen growth, or your body’s own natural collagen production. This can be accomplished in several different ways.
Collagen Supplements
Supplementing certain nutrients in your diet can help to encourage collagen production in your body or restore function when collagen is not forming properly. The following collagen supplements can help to activate collagen growth in your body:
- Vitamin C
- Amino acids like lysine and proline
- Hyaluronic acid
- Collagen supplements like collagen hydrolysate
- Anthocyanidins (bioflavonoids with antioxidant properties)
You should only take dietary supplements specifically recommended by your healthcare provider to ensure their efficacy and to avoid interaction with other dietary supplements and medications.
Diet
Your diet is one of the most powerful ways you can naturally influence collagen production in your body. We mainly receive collagen in our diets from food sources that are high in protein such as beef, chicken, fish and eggs. Your collagen-boosting diet should include:
- Protein rich food like omega-3 fatty acid fish, grass-fed beef, bone broth, chicken and eggs
- Dark green leafy vegetables rich in vitamin C like spinach and kale
- Anthocyanidins-containing foods like blackberries, blueberries, cherries and raspberries
- Foods rich in vitamin A and beta-carotene like carrots and sweet potatoes
It is especially important to avoid certain foods like sugar and alcoholic beverages. Elude free radical damage by avoiding high-heat cooking or the use of degraded vegetable oils.
Cosmetic Treatments
There are several treatments conducted by qualified healthcare professionals which can aid in collagen growth. These include:
- Skin-resurfacing treatments like laser, intense pulsed light (IPL) therapy and dermabrasion
- Microneedling with platelet-rich plasma to create controlled injury and stimulate the body’s own healing abilities along with collagen production
- The use of retinoic acid or a chemical peel to stimulate collagen growth and repair of the skin
- Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers like Restylane, Radiesse and Sculptura
Preventing Collagen Loss
You not only want to increase collagen production; it is just as important to prevent collagen loss. Smoking is a sure-fire way to promote collagen loss, so taking steps to quit smoking can slow collagen breakdown. Other measures that may prevent your loss of collagen include:
- Avoid excessive time in the sun or cover your skin (with sunscreen or clothing) since sun exposure damages the collagen in your skin
- Avoid free radicals (caused by various factors, including cooking methods) that lead to collagen breakdown
- Avoid high sugar consumption and keep your blood sugar under control since excess glucose and problems with glucose metabolism can cause deterioration of collagen in your body
- Get adequate sleep; while you sleep your body goes into repair mode and disrupting this process can influence collagen production
- Address autoimmune disorders that may be destroying your collagen stores
- Address hormonal imbalances through bioidentical hormone replacement therapy
Eradicate Facial Aging Today
Increasing collagen production in the skin can dramatically improve the rate at which your face outwardly ages. By incorporating a skin rejuvenating diet, supplements and cosmetic treatments, you can encourage collagen growth.

i-Lipo: Advanced Laser Body Shaping
Excess fat is a concern for many people. Not having the figure you desire can be extremely damaging to your self-confidence. Being overweight also carries a number of serious health risks.
Liposuction presents itself as a solution for removing fat, but it features an invasive suction action and causes bleeding and bruising, along with any number of side effects. That’s what makes Chromogenex’ i-Lipo™ the best available solution for fat reduction. A form of laser body shaping, i-Lipo provides the look you want without the negative side-effects of traditional lipo. i-Lipo Video Demonstration
For an in-depth look at how Chromogenex’ i-Lipo can provide the shape you want, watch the following video:
How Does i-Lipo Work?
The i-Lipo procedure is non-surgical, and non-invasive, making it far more pleasant than conventional forms of liposuction. i-Lipo uses low-level laser technology (LLLT) to reduce fat. It does this by breaking down triglycerides into free fatty acidsand glycerol, which are then released through the cell membranes.
In essence, this simulates your body’s natural fat reduction processes. The fat content from the treated areas will be burned offduring a period of post-treatment exercise. The typical i-Lipo treatment also includes infrared laser vacuum massage which enhances circulation, promotes collagen growth and assists in the breakdown of fibrous cellulite tissue.
The end result of the i-Lipo process is slimmer, firmer and smoother skin. Other benefits of laser fat reduction include:
- Body contouring
- Cellulite reduction
- Skin tightening
- Collagen growth
- Skin cell renewal
- Improved circulation
What is the Treatment Like?
i-Lipo laser treatment is carried out over several appointments; the exact number varies based on your individual needs and fat-loss goals. Typically, the suggested course is two treatments per week over four weeks.
Each i-Lipo treatment takes just 30 – 35 minutes; 20 for the initial laser treatment, followed by 10 – 15 for the infrared laser vacuum massage. The i-Lipo treatment is pain-free; many even find it relaxing, not dissimilar to a slightly warm massage.
Is i-Lipo Safe?
Chromogenex’ i-Lipo system is not only comfortable but safe. Because i-Lipo triggers a natural fat cell release reaction, the process does not damage cells or skin. i-Lipo is cleared by the FDA.
The i-Lipo treatment is suitable for both men and women. Your doctor will go through a basic, full medical questionnaire and determine if i-Lipo is right for you. To set up a consultation, please call (718) 576-3792 or contact us online .
After Treatment
Many people see results after just one appointment, with the effects after multiple treatments increasing exponentially. Reduction in cellulite and fat cells will reshape your body, giving you the look you want.
After treatment, it’s important to keep up with regular diet and exercise. Your doctor can help formulate a plan and make suggestions in this regard. i-Lipo can be performed again if weight is gained, or to target a different area of the body.
Safe, Effective Shaping
Chromogenex’ cutting-edge i-Lipo laser treatment provides an intelligent, non-surgical alternative to liposuction. Body contouring can be easy, with i-Lipo which features no needles, suction or down time. To get started with i-Lipo, please call (718) 576-3792 or contact us online .
i-Lipo vs. Traditional Liposuction
There are many options available for fat reduction and body contouring. So many, in fact, that it can quickly become confusing and difficult to choose the right option. Below, you’ll find a complete breakdown of how Chromogenex i-Lipo matches up against conventional liposuction.
Traditional Liposuction is Invasive
Conventional lipo uses a cannula, which is a small tube. This tube is inserted directly into your body, which requires a painful incision and possible scar. Traditional liposuction is a surgicalprocedure.
i-Lipo is Non-Invasive
i-Lipo eliminates fat with low level laser technology (LLLT). This means no bleeding, no bruising and, best of all, no scars. Chromogenex i-Lipo is a non-surgical liposuction procedure.
Traditional Liposuction is Painful
Conventional liposuction can cause a great deal of pain, both during the treatment and after. This is due to the incision and the suction action used to remove fat. Some patients even experience bleeding during the treatment and unsightly bruises after.
i-Lipo is PAINLESS
The low-level laser technology used in i-Lipo causes absolutely no pain. Many people actually describe the experience as relaxing, like a mildly warm massage. Because no incisions are made and your skin is unbroken, pain after i-Lipo is non-existent.
Traditional Liposuction Removes Fat
As the name implies, liposuction sucks fat straight out of your body. This is incredibly damaging to your system and produces ugly, sagging skin. Conventional lipo can actually remove too much fat, which can have negative effects on your long-term health.
i-Lipo ELIMINATES Fat
i-Lipo is targeted. Rather than remove fat, i-Lipo’s advanced technology targets and eliminates fat cells. i-Lipo actually stimulates your natural fat-burning process, which makes it a safer, more effective body contouring solution. i-Lipo also tightens your skin to avoid the sag associated with conventional lipo.
Traditional Liposuction has a Long Downtime
Conventional liposuction can require days or even weeks of recovery time. This stems from the amount of damage done to your body and the associated pain. Traditional lipo can cause you to miss work and be unable to enjoy your favorite activities.
i-Lipo has NO Downtime
Because i-Lipo is non-invasive, pain-free and non-surgical, it features absolutely no downtime. i-Lipo has even been called weekend liposuction: you get the operation performed on Friday and are right back to work on Monday. You can actually resume your favorite activities immediately following an i-Lipo session.
i-Lipo is the Right Choice
i-Lipo provides all the benefits of traditional liposuction and none of the negatives. For body contouring, shaping and fat reduction, i-Lipo is the clear winner.
To schedule an i-Lipo consultation, please call (718) 576-3792 or contact us online.
i-Lipo & Laser Skin Tightening
Even if you’ve discovered how to lose weight, it’s possible you may still have issues with sagging or loose skin. When you lose fat, your skin struggles with retaining elasticity. This is because the method used to reduce fat, chiefly conventional liposuction, doesn’t contain any skin tightening techniques.
Unlike those other fat-reduction techniques, Chromogenex i-Lipo takes your skin into consideration. For more information about i-Lipo and its skin tightening ability, please call (718) 576-3792 or contact us online.
How i-Lipo Works
This informative video demonstrates i-Lipo’s fat-reducing, skin-tightening qualities:
i-Lipo makes use of low-level laser technology (LLLT). With this highly advanced technique, the i-Lipo treatment targets and eliminates fat cells, essentially “melting” them away. The fat cells are converted into free-flowing fatty acids.
With a small amount of light exercise, such as riding a stationary bike or using a treadmill, you burn off the fatty acids and are rewarded with a figure-slimming fat reduction. In essence, i-Lipo stimulates your body’s natural fat-burning process. i-Lipo can be used on the:
- Stomach
- Back
- Arms
- Legs
- Neck
- Thighs
A typical i-Lipo treatment lasts only 20 – 30 minutes and is painless. In addition to fat reduction and tighter skin, laser liposuction gives you:
- Skin cell renewal
- Collagen growth
- Cellulite reduction
- Body contouring
- An affordable solution
i-Lipo is clinically proven to reduce fat and has given some patients inches of reduction.
How i-Lipo Tightens Skin
What sets i-Lipo apart from conventional liposuction is ithe fact that in addition to fat loss, i-Lipo includes skin tighteningproperties. Because the fat is merely “sucked out”, traditional liposuction can leave you with sagging skin. Then you’re left with an excess of skin, leading to an unsightly look that may necessitate a tummy tuck procedure.
Tummy tuck recovery can be incredibly difficult, so it’s best to avoid that procedure whenever possible. i-Lipo avoids sagging skin because it targets fat with high-powered lasers. These lasers actually tighten the skin from within, during your treatment.
The technologically-advanced fat-melting process makes Chromogenex’ i-Lipo a form of laser skin tightening. In effect, you get all of the benefits of conventional lipo, namely fat reduction, with the added bonus of tighter, sexier skin.
Have a Great Shape
You can have it all: reduced fat, a flattering figure and tight, supple skin. If you’re ready to get started with i-Lipo laser liposuction and body sculpting, please call (718) 576-3792 or contact us online.
Hyperpigmentation Treatment
Hyperpigmentation is the term given to a series of medical conditions that darken the skin. This skin darkening typically occurs in small patches and is possible in nearly any part of the body. Like many skin conditions, hyperpigmentation can be hereditary or a symptom of a much more serious medical problem. In some cases, hyperpigmentation can be treated, mitigated or eliminated.
Request more information about hyperpigmentation treatment today: Call (718) 576-3792 or contact us online.
Hyperpigmentation Causes
Hyperpigmentation occurs when there is excess pigmentation in the skin. Excess pigmentation leads to patches of skin that are darker or otherwise discolored than their surroundings. Hyperpigmentation is sometimes caused by a genetic disorder. In other situations, it is linked to another medical condition.
Conditions that can cause hyperpigmentation include:
- Graves’ disease
- Melasma
- Celiac disease
- Cushing’s disease
- Addison’s disease
- Dermatitis
- Skin ulcers
- Mercury poisoning
- Melanosis
- Hormone Imbalance
The most common cause of hyperpigmentation comes from excessive sun exposure that causes sun damage. In very rare cases, hyperpigmentation may also stem from certain laser skin rejuvenation procedures or by pregnancy. In general, all of these causes of hyperpigmentation involve the increased production of melanin. Melanin is the substance produced by the body that gives skin its tone.
Hyperpigmentation Symptoms
The most apparent symptom of hyperpigmentation is the darkened skin itself. People suffering from hyperpigmentationtypically describe the affected skin as:
- Dark
- Patchy
- Irregular
- Brown
- Tan
- Spotty
Hyperpigmentation has many different names. Some of the most common terms for hyperpigmentation are freckles, age spots and liver spots. Despite a common misconception, hyperpigmentation can affect people of any skin color and tone.
Hyperpigmentation Treatment
Some spots of darker colored skin, such as freckles or common moles are no cause for alarm. When hyperpigmentationoccupies a large area of the skin, or is newly emergent, it may be time to see a dermatologist or other medical professional.
Treating hyperpigmentation can come in many different ways. In terms of sun damage hyperpigmentation, the best treatment is preventive. Preventive treatments include:
- Sunscreen
- Avoiding excessive UV light exposure
- Refraining from tanning beds
In some cases, skin darkening can be eliminated or mitigated by treating the underlying condition. For that option, different treatments are nearly endless. When hyperpigmentation doesn’t respond to treating another condition, however, hope is not lost.
Other possible treatments include:
- Medicated skin creams
- Laser skin treatments
- Radiofrequency (RF) technology procedures
- Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy
- Dietary intervention

Hyaluronic Acid Skin Care
The desire to retain a youthful appearance in the mature years of life continues to grow in both men and women. Fortunately, scientific advances in skin and healthcare have made it possible to prolong the external aging process and eliminate many troubling signs of aging including fine lines and wrinkles. One of these advances is the use of hyaluronic acid (HA), a clear, lubricating polysaccharide produced naturally in the human body.
Hyaluronic acid, in its organic form, acts as a lubricating and cushioning agent for your joints, skin, hair and eyes, helping to increase flexibility and elasticity, maximize collagen and draw and maintain moisture levels. Unfortunately, as you age, your body stops producing hyaluronic acid and, as it becomes depleted, your face may be one of the first places it shows.
However, application of hyaluronic acid to aging skin depleted of natural hyaluronic acid can rejuvenate the health of your skin, eliminating years from your appearance. Methods for using hyaluronic acid vary from moisturizers and injections to supplements that seek to create youthful skin from the inside out.
To schedule a consultation with a qualified skin care specialist in that can recommend hyaluronic acid skin care treatments and products, call (718) 576-3792 or contact us online.
Hyaluronic Acid Skin Care Options
If you have damaged skin or are seeking to reduce signs of aging, hyaluronic acid may be a good choice, especially for rejuvenating facial skin. There are several different types of hyaluronic acid products, each with different preferred application methods.
Hyaluronic acid injections are used as fillers for deep wrinkles (instead of collagen injections). Through injection, hyaluronic acid benefits include:
- The body does not reject HA since it is a substance that is produced naturally in the human body
- HA naturally stimulates collagen production
- The HA molecules are said to be able to attract and retain 1000 times their weight in water
- The human body can easily reabsorb and dispose of the HA in the injected filler, usually within 12 months.
Hyaluronic acid supplements have been used for years as a supplement for joint repair; synthetically-derived hyaluronic acid supplements are thought to replace depleted stores of HA in the human body. Hyaluronic acid is often recommended not only for its ability to reverse skin aging, but also for its benefits in reducing joint pain, dry eyes, arthritis and other aging-related symptoms. It may also serve as an aid to wound healing and even reduce scarring.
Hyaluronic acid topical skin care formulations range from facial and body moisturizing creams and serums, to lip balms and makeup. Unlike collagen, when applied topically, hyaluronic acid penetrates the skin’s upper layers. It can form a moisture barrier and help draw moisture and preserve skin hydration, softening the appearance of fine lines. Topically, hyaluronic acid is also frequently used during micro needling treatment where it is absorbed into deeper layers of the skin through micro-injuries.
Who is a Candidate for Hyaluronic Acid Skin Care
Because hyaluronic acid is a substance produced naturally in the human body, most people are good candidates for hyaluronic acid skin care and it is safe for use. However, some individuals may experience hyaluronic acid side effects including dry, red or itchy skin. People with oily skin are less likely to experience side effects. How the hyaluronic acid product is formulated may also be a key factor in reactions to a product, and simply switching to a different formulation may solve the problem.
If you are faced with damaged or aging skin, hyaluronic acid can be a safe and effective way to rejuvenate your skin. Request more information about hyaluronic acid skin care today. Call (718) 576-3792 or contact us online.
hCG Diet
HCG Injections
hCG for weight loss is a type of medical weight loss program. Designed using rigorous methods and a natural hormone, HCG injections are quickly attaining popularity with those looking to lose weight.
Would you like to know more about hCG weight loss injections?
To learn morea about HCG and to schedule a consultation with HCG specialist, please call (718) 576-3792 or contact us online.
What is hCG?
hCG is the short form of human chorionic gonadotropin, a hormone produced by the body during pregnancy. hCG’s core function is very important to the health of the fetus during pregnancy and regulates many other functions of the body as well. Without healthy levels of hCG during pregnancy, the body cannot produce enough of a necessary hormone called progesterone.
Human chorionic gonadotropin has many medical uses like marking tumors for treatment and treating infertility. Some providers also utilize hCG as a key a part of a medical weight loss program. This is considered an off-label use of human chorionic gonadotropin.
How Do hCG Weight Loss Programs Work?
Human chorionic gonadotropin is administered to patients looking to lose weight, in most cases as an injection or sublingual drops. hCG is said to help reset the hypothalamus and thus reset hormones. Some patients report a tremendous sense of wellbeing while on hCG. Some have identified that hCG may act as a very potent fat burner while sparing lean muscle mass during a ketogenic diet.
hCG weight loss programs typically include a specific diet that is to be practiced along with the hCG treatment.
This is a very strict diet and is not recommended for all patients. You should speak with a medical professional before undertaking any major dietary changes, weight loss treatments or programs. However, when hCG is combined with this diet, the fundimental belief is that hCG hormone will act as an appetite suppressant, hopefully precipitating in weight loss.

- Reduced pain
- Shorter recovery time
- Faster treatment time
During the procedure, a “smart scanning” hand piece directs consistent and safe fractional laser blasts to the affected area. These fractional lasers penetrate the top layer of the skin, which has the added benefit of stimulating collagen growth. Collagen is the natural substance that gives your skin youthfulness and elasticity. By going deep within the skin, Fraxel Laser energizes and activates your skin’s natural healing abilities, smoothing wrinkles, damaged spots and splotches.
Fraxel Laser is the original fractional laser skin treatment. The average Fraxel Laser appointment lasts only 15 – 45 minutes, with results appearing anywhere from 1 – 3 weeks after treatment. Most patients receive three to five Fraxel Laser treatments.

Fat-Burning Injections
When you are ready to lose weight, you have plenty of options. From traditional diet and exercise to appetite suppressants and physician-guided medical weight loss programs, there are lots of choices for success. Fat burning injections are one treatment option designed to to speed up metabolism and burn fat faster.
If you would like to learn more about fat burning injections, call (718) 576-3792or contact us online.
How Do Fat Burning Injections Work?
Fat burning injections contain a blend of vitamins, minerals, and amino acids that support the body during weight loss. Known as lipotropic compounds, they help in the breakdown of fat which occurs in the liver. Without lipotropics, fats and bile become trapped in the liver leading to slower fat metabolism and weight gain.
Your fat burning injections may go by the trade name “Lipolean” or other names. Most providers feel that these injections are safe and effective. If you have questions about them, make sure to ask.
Weight loss with fat burning injections will be gradual and will depend on how well you stick to your diet and exercise plan. Overall, supporters of their use claim that men and women who use the injections will lose more weight than those who don’t.
What is in a Fat Burning Injection?
Here are some of the most common components of a fat burning injection and how they work in your body:
- Vitamin B12: This is the body’s energy vitamin. Some weight loss experts believe that Vitamin B12 can suppress the appetite and stimulate the body to use its fat and carbohydrate stores.
- Inositol: A vitamin responsible for the use of fat and cholesterol inside the body. Inositol also prevents hardening of the arteries.
- Choline: Minimizes excess fat in the liver and supports the body’s natural hormone production.
- Methionine: An amino acid that eliminates free radical cells in the body. It helps to break down fats, supports digestion and removes heavy metals from the body. Methionine also increases energy and supports the development of lean muscle.
Your provider may also give you extra B-complex vitamins. This is a combination of B 1,2,3,5,6, and 12 that support many essential functions for fat burning and weight loss. B vitamins play a role in everything from energy production, to metabolism support and use of carbohydrates, proteins, sugar and much more.

Facials
The facial is one of the most popular spa treatments in the world. By combining a number of different treatments, a standard facial provides an experience that is both relaxing and rejuvenating.
Learn more about facials today: Call (718) 576-3792 or contact us online.
What is a Facial?
Facials are one of the foundational spa treatments. They are designed to rejuvenate the skin through a variety of different methods. Facials are typically a very affordable treatment and can be provided by a licensed aesthetician, doctor or many other professionals.
Many people receive a facial in order to reduce the appearance of:
- Wrinkles
- Fine lines
- Blemishes
- Age spots
- Dry skin
- Oily skin
Others love the experience of a facial because it can be very relaxing and invigorating. A facial is a regenerative process, one that stimulates the skin to produce results. Many people even make a facial part of their monthly routine.
What is Included in a Facial?
No two facials are exactly the same; each provider has different methods they prefer and each recipient has a different skin type. In general, there are certain things that are included in a standard facial.
The treatments generally included in a facial are:
- Consultation: Every facial typically begins with a consultation, to see what the recipient’s day-to-day life is like and how that impacts their skin.
- Analysis: In this step, the skin is given an in-depth analysis to determine which steps should be taken next.
- Steam: Some facials make use of steam vapor for both its relaxing effect and to soften up the skin before exfoliation. This step may be omitted for those with sensitive skin.
- Exfoliation: Almost every facial includes some type of exfoliation. During exfoliation, which may be done with an exfoliation machine or a special chemical peel, the skin is scrubbed to remove the top layer of wrinkled skin and replace it with a younger under-layer.
- Extractions: The extraction of whiteheads and blackheads is sometimes included in a facial, but not always.
- Massage: Many facials include a light massage of the face, which can stimulate facial muscles and is very relaxing.
- Masks: The final and most well-known step of a facial is the facial mask. There are many different types of stimulating facial masks from clay and mud, to cucumber! Finding the best facial mask for your skin is best left to a professional.

Facial Aging Treatment
Aging is an unavoidable part of life. We all grow older and expect to see some signs of aging in our appearances. But have you noticed that some people seem to age much more dramatically than others? That’s because facial aging affects every person differently.
Facial aging can make you look older than you appear and damage your confidence. To request information on facial aging, call (718) 576-3792 or contact us online.
Causes of Facial Aging
Some degree of facial aging is unavoidable. But certain triggers and repeated factors can lead to faster facial aging or increased facial aging. Some of the common causes of facial aging include:
- Sun overexposure
- Cigarette smoking
- Anxiety
- Stress
- Collagen loss
- Hormonal changes/hormone imbalance
- Bone loss/ osteoporosis
- Gravity
- Repeated facial expressions
These are just some of the issues that can lead to heavy facial aging. Of them, gravity is by far the biggest culprit. In general, the toll that gravity takes on the skin leads to sag, wrinkles and a number of symptoms of facial aging.
Types of Facial Aging
Facial aging appears in a number of different ways, and varies greatly from person to person. Many different facial aging issues exist, and can be treated in a variety of ways. Some of the most common signs of facial aging include:
- Wrinkles
- Crow’s feet
- Sagging skin
- Age spots
- Sun damage
- Fine lines
- Dark circles under the eyes
- Nasolabial folds
- Skin laxity
- Skin discoloration
As everyone ages different, some people experience just one or a few of these issues, while others may experience nearly all of them. The one upside to facial aging is that nearly all of these conditions can be treated. The type of treatment you pursue depends on the individual nature of your facial aging and the recommendation of a professional.
Treatment of Facial Aging
There are numerous facial treatment options available, which can be sorted in to several broad categories. Some facial aging treatments include:
- Laser aesthetic treatments
- Cosmetic surgery
- Dermatological treatments
- Dermal fillers (Juvederm, Dysport, Restylane)
- BOTOX injections
- Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections with micro needling
- Mesotherapy
- Ozone therapy
Each of these categories contains a variety of treatments, each of which can be tailed or combined with other methods to suit your individual needs as a patient. Some treatments to prevent facial aging may also be available.
Facial aging treatment typically begins with a basic consultation to discuss how your face has aged and the best course of treatment in addressing those issues.
Fight Facial Aging Now
Facial aging is unavoidable, but with skin treatments such as laser aesthetics, cosmetic surgery or dermal fillers, you may be able to turn back the clock on your look. To request more information on facial aging, call (718) 576-3792 or contact us online.
Endovenous Laser (EVLT) Varicose Vein Treatment
Varicose veins can cause extreme confidence issues and limit your ability to wear certain clothes. These unsightly veins are actually enlarged, which leads to pain, discoloration and aches. varicose veins are also more likely to suffer from circulation problems and other vein-related disorders.
Because of these serious issues, there are many options available for varicose vein treatment. Endovenous laser (EVLT) treatment for varicose veins is a technologically advanced way to reduce and eliminate varicose veins. If you’re interested in eliminating varicose veins, please call (718) 576-3792 or contact us online.
What are Varicose Veins?
Varicose veins occur when the veins in your body (typically on the legs) lose elasticity, which then affects the way blood flows through them. Normally, blood flows in one direction through a vein, toward the heart. With varicose veins, blood begins flowing backwards, leading to inflamed, blue-hued veins that resemble cords.
Varicose veins causes include
- Age
- Genetics
- Pregnancy
- Obesity
- Excessive inactivity
Varicose veins are not only unsightly, but painful as well. Additional varicose vein symptoms include:
- Leg “heaviness”
- Swelling
- Itching
- Burning
- Cramps
- Scarring
- Inflammation
- Scaling
- Skin discoloration
Varicose veins can lead to more threatening conditions such as deep vein thrombosis, ulcers and restless leg syndrome. Because of that, it’s crucial to receive treatment for varicose veins as soon as possible.
Laser Varicose Vein Treatment
Endovenous laser therapy, also known as EVLT, is one way your physician can alleviate varicose veins. Using a technique called endovenous laser ablation, a small device is inserted directly in to the vein.
Before treatment, vein mapping is typically performed to discover the source and extent of your varicose veins. This device uses targeted blasts of laser light and energy to shrink the vein walls. This eliminates varicose veins directly at the source, with only minimal pain.
When the vein walls are reduced in size, they collapse and are eliminated. This results in proper blood flow and improved vein appearance. Multiple sessions may be needed for particularly large or threatening varicose veins.
EVLT Recovery
Recovery times for EVLT varicose vein treatment are minimal. The treatment itself takes roughly 30 minutes, and most normal activities can be resumed immediately after. EVLT doesn’t leave any scars, though some minor soreness is to be expected.
Eliminate Varicose Veins Now
There’s no reason to deal with painful, unsightly varicose veins on your legs or anywhere else. EVLT provides a safe, effective solution for eliminating veins and regaining your confidence. Schedule EVLT for varicose veins now: call (718) 576-3792 or contact us online.
Dry Skin Treatment
Understanding Your Dry Skin
Dry skin, also known as xerosis, is characterized by skin that is dehydrated and irritated. In more severe dry skin cases, the skin may also be red and inflamed and have deep cracks—called fissures—that extend into deeper layers of the skin. These features can develop on any part of the body but are typically more prominent on the face, hands, arms, and legs.
In most cases, dry skin is a nuisance but does not represent a serious health problem; however, chronic dry skin may indicate a dermatological condition, such as psoriasis or eczema, is at play, or signal an underlying health condition, such as diabetes or hypothyroidism. If you experience persistent dry skin, it is important to meet with a healthcare practitioner who can rule out any underlying health concerns.
Fortunately, many natural treatments, over-the-counter products, and lifestyle modifications are available to help heal your dry, irritated skin. To schedule a consultation with a healthcare practitioner in who specializes in dry skin treatment, call (718) 576-3792 or contact us online.
What Causes Dry Skin?
Your skin is an organ that relies both on hydration and moisture. The skin’s soft and pliable texture is due to its water content; when the skin is dehydrated, your skin appears less supple and may cause itchiness, increased sensitivity, fine lines, and wrinkles. Sweat and oil glands, as well as natural moisturizing factors (NMFs) in the skin, help to maintain the skin’s moisture content and prevent water from evaporating from the skin.
Many internal and external factors can influence the moisture and hydration of your skin, including:
- Harsh soaps
- Dry air
- Low humidity
- Taking long, hot showers or baths
- Exposure to environmental toxins
- Medications, including diuretics and topical retinoid creams
The prevalence of dry skin also increases with age due to physiological changes of the skin such as decreased activity of the oil glands, thinning of the skin and loss of elasticity. Hormonal imbalances such as decreased estrogen production can also contribute to dry skin symptoms.
Dry skin may also develop as the result of an underlying health condition. These dry skin conditions include:
- Eczema
- Psoriasis
- Diabetes
- Allergies
- Hypothyroidism
- Liver disease
- Kidney disease
- Blood cancer such as lymphoma
Dry Skin Remedies
Treatment of dry skin is often dependent on the underlying factors which influence the skin’s hydration and moisture content. For individuals that experience mild to moderate dry skin, treatment with lifestyle changes, moisturizers, and natural remedies can significantly improve the skin’s condition. Early treatment can also prevent complications, such as open wounds and skin infections from occurring.
Lifestyle changes typically involve modifying your showering routine, and include:
- Using a moisturizing soap
- Avoiding the use of hot water to shower or bathe
- Avoiding daily showers (switch to every other day)
- Limiting the time in the shower to less than 10 minutes
- Patting skin dry instead of rubbing skin with a towel
- Applying a moisturizing lotion after a shower and several times daily to dry skin
Other dry skin remedies to consider include:
- Avoiding antibacterial soaps and hand sanitizers
- Using a humidifier in your home
- Avoiding behaviors which can aggravate dry skin, such as itching or scrubbing
- Avoiding itchy clothing such as wool
- Drinking at least 8 cups of purified water per day
- Drinking more water during dry or cold seasons, after exercising, and after consuming alcohol
- Adding essential omega-3 fatty acids (found in walnuts, flaxseed, hemp seed and cold water fish such as salmon, mackerel, cod, tuna, and sardines) into the diet or via supplement
- Applying aloe vera gel
- Applying natural oils to the skin as a moisturizer, such as coconut, jojoba and avocado oils
If you experience severe dry skin, your healthcare provider may prescribe medication, such as a corticosteroid or immune modulator, to help alleviate your dry skin symptoms. If one or more dry skin conditions are at play, treatment will also focus on addressing the underlying condition.
With proper treatment, you can help address the causes of very dry skin, restoring ample moisture and hydration to your irritated, red, or cracked skin. To meet with a healthcare provider who can help to identify the signs of dry skin and implement new skin care strategies, call (718) 576-3792 or contact us online.
Dermal Filler Injections
As the sands of time take their toll on our features, some fear that the only defense we have against their indelible mark involves a surgeon’s knife. Most dermal fillers in use today provide an FDA-approved solution to smoothing out unwanted age lines and adding volume to your features. The procedures incur zero downtime, and their effects can be seen almost immediately.
The process is simple. A professional injects a substance into the areas surrounding the nose, mouth, and chin to smooth wrinkles by adding volume beneath the surface of the skin.
An anti-aging professional can educate you on the options available. Here are just a few of the more popular choices:
JUVÉDERM
With Juvederm® therapy, a colorless gel called hyaluronic acid is injected into the treatment area. Hyaluronic acid is naturally created by the body, and acts as a sponge to absorb water and store it under the skin, lending your face a fuller, youthful appearance. Over time this chemical diminishes though, so Juvéderm® treatments seek to restore it to a level that yields the desired results.
Within the Juvéderm® family of products there are also several options to consider depending on the condition you wish to address. For example, Juvéderm® Ultra Plus is a thicker gel used to fill deeper furrows in the skin, while Juvéderm® Ultra is a thinner solution for smoothing away fine lines. Both options last for up to one year with just a single treatment.

RADIESSE
Radiesse® uses microspheres of calcium hydroxylapatite suspended in a water-based gel to instantly restore volume to wrinkled skin. This substance is naturally absorbed over time, leaving the body’s own collagen in its place. The results can last for over a year.

SCULPTRA
Unlike some other options, Sculptra® can take a short period of time before its benefits come to full realization. Patients take part in three injections over a range of a few months, allowing the patient to gradually erase their age lines without having to explain how they vanished overnight. These injections are filled with a synthetic substance known as poly-L-lactic acid which stimulates the body’s production of collagen. It’s the same material used in the manufacturing of dissolvable stitches and is safely absorbed by the body over time. The results of Sculptra® last more than two years.

Restylane
Much like Juvederm®, Restylane® uses hyaluronic acid to reduce wrinkles and foldsby adding volume to the skin. It is also effective in enhancing the fullness of your lips and has been FDA approved for the purposes of lip enhancement for patients over the age of 21.
Hyaluronic acid is a chemical that is naturally produced by the body, and lends fullness to your skin. Over time, this chemical diminishes leaving wrinkles and folds, particularly in the space between your nose and the sides of your mouth.
The injections will be absorbed naturally by the body over time, but with follow up treatments at 4.5 or 9 months, Restylane results can last up to 18 months.

Restylane Lyft
Restylane Lyft® is another treatment option found within the Restylane® family of products formally known as Perlane. It is also a hyaluronic gel designed to add volume to skin. Restlyne Lyft is effective in reducing wrinkles, folds, and smile lines, as well as enhancing the fullness of your lips.
The main difference between Restylane Lyft and Restylane is that Restylane Lyft is a thicker gel, and it is injected deeper into the skin. It can be a better option or clients with thicker skin, or for wrinkles that originate deeper within the face. Restylane Lyft results last between six to nine months.
LaViv
LaViv® takes an entirely different approach to skin rejuvenation than some of the techniques described above. It is designed to use your body’s own tissues to stimulate the production of collagen. Here is a brief description of how the process works:
Collagen resides in the middle layer of your skin, and it is the substance that is most responsible for giving your skin its shape. Fibroblasts are the skin cells that produce collagen.
During the LaViv® process, a skin sample is taken from your body, and sent to a lab where it is cultivated into millions of fibroblast cells. These cells are frozen for three months. The new fibroblasts are then injected back into your skin where they begin producing new collagen.
The injections take place over three visits spaced three to six weeks apart. The results of this treatment last up to six months.

CoolSculpting
Many people look for a way to reduce stubborn fat such as love handles, muffin tops and paunches. Some even look to surgical solutions, such as liposuction or cutting-edge new treatments, like laser liposuction.
Those procedures have one thing in common: they destroy fat cells, meaning that they can actually destroy other, non-fat tissue in the process. That means damage to your body, long recovery times and the possibility of scars. That’s where CoolSculpting comes in. Unlike those other options, CoolSculpting freezes fat cells to the point of elimination.
If you’re interested in the cold fat reduction of CoolSculpting, please call (718) 576-3792 or contact us online.
How CoolSculpting Works
CoolSculpting avoids any potentially damaging elements, including hot lasers or invasive incisions. Instead, CoolSculptinguses a targeted cooling process that freezes fat cells to the point of elimination.
CoolSculpting is cleared by the FDA and is completely non-invasive. The typical CoolSculpting appointment lasts just one hour and could easily fit into a lunch break. There is minimal pain and downtime involved in the procedure, which means you can easily return to work after the procedure.
The effects of CoolSculpting take some time to appear because it’s a natural solution. As the fat cells in your “problem areas” are frozen, they take some time to die and leave your body. Once this happens, love handles, muffin tops and more may be reduced.
Before & After pictures are provided by the product manufacturer. Your results may vary.
Is CoolSculpting for Me?
CoolSculpting is not a weight loss procedure or meant to eliminate obesity. Instead, it is the ideal procedure for cutting down on unsightly problem fat. The best way to know if CoolSculpting is the solution for you is to contact a doctor for a consultation.
Generally, CoolSculpting has shown to be very effective at reducing love handles, pooches, muffin tops, back fat and more. The procedure is:
- Fast
- Easy
- Effective
- Non-invasive
- Non-surgical
- Safe
Take Your Body Back!
If CoolSculpting sounds like the procedure for you, please call (718) 576-3792 or contact us online. It’s time to stop living with love handles! Freezing fat cells provides a safe, effective and natural solution.
Collagen Induction Therapy
With all sorts of products designed to help promote youthful looking skin regardless of age, the choice can be difficult finding the right procedure for you. However, one of the newest—and surprisingly oldest—options is collagen induction therapy (CPI) also known as micro-needling. Discovered in the 50’s by French physician Dr. Pistor, gaining popularity in the 90’s, CPI is once again gaining steam as a treatment for less-than-perfect skin.
Now used to treat fine lines, wrinkles, scars, and to reduce pore size, CPI offers these results in a way unlike other treatments. Unlike lasers, chemicals and heat treatments, CPI protects the epidermis (the outermost layer of skin and our first line of defense against the elements).
How Does Collagen Induction Therapy Work?
The procedure is completed with a tool that quickly pokes the skin with tiny micro needles. These microscopic wounds stimulate a process known as neocollagenesis; the production of new collagen connective tissue in the lower (dermal) layers of the skin. These elastin fibers are what keep our skin looking taught and young.
Collagen Induction Therapy Procedure
Using a process known as micro-needling, tiny injections are made in the skin with the aid of a tattoo gun type tool. These micro needles puncture through the epidermis (top layer of skin) and into the dermis (lower layer), jumpstarting the production of collagen.
For moderate scarring and imperfections, the CIT procedure may have to be repeated up to four times, and in excess of five rounds of treatment for severe scaring. However, many patients state that the procedure is quick and relatively pain free, often describing a stinging sensation as the only discomfort.
It should also be said that it may be required to wait up to 6 weeks between courses of treatment to allow adequate healing of the area.
Expected Results
With an initial inflammation followed by an inflammatory response (initiation of new tissue formation) and ending with the production of new collagen, your CIT treatment may take up to a year to show full results. Collagen Growth – , Dermatologist
People are always looking for a way to reduce the fat on their body. What many don’t realize is that fat reduction, particularly through conventional liposuction, can have some nasty after-effects. The foremost of which is damaged skin.
The best way to combat saggy, wrinkled skin stemming from a procedure is to avoid it all together. To accomplish this, your physician may reccomend Chromogenex’ i-Lipo treatment. For more information, please call (718) 576-3792 or contact us online.
Collagen & Conventional Liposuction
Collagen is a naturally occurring substance in your skin that promotes elasticity. In essence, this substance gives skin its youthful and smooth appearance. As you age, your body stops producing collagen; this is why skin sags and wrinkles.
This is doubly true for how skin reacts to a conventional liposuction treatment. Because liposuction merely “sucks” fat out of your body, you’re left with sagging skin, wrinkles and unsightly folds. Your body isn’t producing enough new collagen, so the skin has no elasticity.
Collagen & i-Lipo
i-Lipo is unique: it provides the same body shaping and fat reduction of conventional liposuction, yet maintains healthy, supple skin. This is because i-Lipo promotes collagen growth.
This is done with low-level laser technology, also referred to as LLLT. For each i-Lipo session, several treatment pads are placed around the target area. These pads emit the i-Lipo laser, which targets and eliminates fat cells. The mild heat of the i-Lipo treatment actually stimulates your body’s collagen production. By rejuvenating this natural process, you lose fat without making your skin droop or sag.
To put it another way: i-Lipo is like getting liposuction AND a “tummy tuck”, only non-surgically! i-Lipo is even making waves in the media. Take a look at this recent episode of “The Doctors”, featuring the impressive i-Lipo process:
Because i-Lipo is a non-invasiveway to [[crosslink:‘collagen-growth’,‘boost collagen and reduce fat, This treatment option features:
- No bruising
- No bleeding
- No scars
- No pain
- No downtime
The results of i-Lipo are proven. Results may vary, but many patients lost inches and entire dress sizes by combining Chromogenex i-Lipo with a healthy diet and moderate exercise.
Make the Right Choice
In addition to collagen growth and fat reduction, i-Lipo provides:
- Skin tightening
- Skin cell renewal
- Cellulite reduction

Chemical Peels
The harsh effects of aging can damage your confidence. With a chemical peel, you can reinvigorate your look with healthy, youthful skin. If you’re interested in the skin rejuvenation of a chemical peel, please call (718) 576-3792 or contact us online.
How Chemical Peels Work
A form of skin care, chemical peels provide luminous soft skin through resurfacing. This means, essentially, that your older skin is replaced by younger, smoother skin.
This procedure is done with any number of chemical solutions, including:
- Glycolic acid
- Trichloroacetic acid
- Salicylic acid
- Lactic acid
- Carbolic (phenol) acid
These solutions are safe for use on skin; they cause mild blistering that causes a top layer of skin to “peel”. This “peeling” rejuvenates your skin and provides a younger look. Depending on the severity of your skin issues, there are several forms of chemical peels:
- Light peels, which treat fine lines and wrinkles on only the outermost layer of skin.
- Medium peels, which go deeper and can treat uneven skin tone and acne scars.
- Deep peels, which can help with deep wrinkles, age spots or even precancerous growths.
The time taken and frequency of treatment will depend on which type of peel you, and your doctor, choose. A typical session, however, takes under an hour and is an outpatient procedure.
How Chemical Peels Help
By providing you with smoother, more youthful skin, chemical peels can help mitigate or eliminate any number of skin issues.
Chemical peels can help with:
- Wrinkles
- Acne
- Age spots and liver spots
- Sun-damaged skin
- Scars
- Fine lines
- Rough skin
If you’re struggling with any of these skin issues, please call (718) 576-3792 or contact us online.
Before Your Chemical Peel
It’s crucial to keep your doctor informed of any health problems before beginning a chemical peel. Things such as scarring and cold sores can interfere with the chemical peel process. Your doctor may request a physical, to analyze your skin and provide a chemical peel that’s best suited to your needs.
Before starting each session, you’ll be asked to remove all makeup and creams from the areas that will be treated. Typically, this involves such products being avoided for a full 24 hours in advance of your appointment.
After Your Chemical Peel
The deeper the peel, the longer your recovery time will be. For a light or medium peel, pain is minimal and won’t last much longer than the treatment itself. Your doctor will help mitigate this with soothing lotions and cold compresses.
For a deep chemical peel, your doctor will provide a numbing agent for your skin to dramatically reduce the pain you’ll feel. It’s a good idea to bring a friend or loved one with you, so you can have a safe ride home.
In the days after a peel, it’s normal for your skin to be irritated, cracked or red. This is the natural resurfacing process taking place. New youthful skin will eventually replace the old skin and you’ll have a lovely, fresh look.

What is Cellulite?
Cellulite is a type of fat that sits just underneath your skin. Because it’s so close to the skin, cellulite gives the appearance of many tiny dimples surrounding the affected area. Cellulite most commonly occurs in women, but in rare cases can affect men as well.
Cellulite can be regularly found on the:
- Thighs
- Hips
- Buttocks
- Abdomen
Cellulite frequently occurs in areas that have existing pockets of fatty tissue. As fat cells build up, they start to push up against the skin while seeing resistance from the muscles in your body. This creates an uneven skin surface, which leads to the previously mentioned dimpling. Cellulite can be caused by:
- Excess fat
- Dehydration
- Hormonal imbalance
- Lack of exercise
- Metabolism
- Poor diet
Cellulite Treatments
One of the best ways to eliminate cellulite is with an i-Lipo treatment session. i-Lipo provides a scientifically proven method to target fat cells. During a session, 2 – 4 laser pads are attached to the area you wish to treat.
Using low-level laser technology (LLLT), these pads emit a frequency that essentially melts fat cells and cellulite away. After each non-surgical, non-invasive session you engage in light exercise that ensures the cellulite and fat dissipate. The end result: smoother, tighter and suppler skin.
While the laser liposuction effect of i-Lipo is the superior treatment for cellulite, there are several other options on the market:
- Cellulite creams: Also marketed as caffeine cream and retinol cream, these products aim to stimulate collagen through the skin.
- Mesotherapy: This relatively new treatment uses an injectable “cocktail” of medicines, vitamins and supplements to destroy fat cells.
- Conventional liposuction: Conventional liposuction is an invasive, surgical procure where fat and cellulite are “sucked” out with a small tube called a cannula.
At best, these alternate treatments are ineffective. At worst, they are incredibly harmful and can cause bleeding, scars or long-term damage to your skin.

Cellulite
Cellulite is a troubling issue for women from all walks of life. Pockets of dimpled fat that typically appear around the thighs, buttocks and elsewhere, cellulite can be extremely damaging to confidence and self-esteem. Thankfully, there are many different cellulite treatment options available.

Cellulite Symptoms
It’s important to differentiate cellulite from common fat. Regular fat is typically smooth and can be addressed through proper dieting, exercising or aesthetic treatments. Cellulite, on the other hand is:
- Dimpled
- Bumpy
- “Cottage cheese” like texture
Cellulite may not react or be improved by the same methods that work on regular fat. Cellulite typically comes in two different stages, mild cellulite and severe cellulite.
- Mild cellulite: Mild cellulite is not yet pushing against the skin and may not be visible unless the skin surrounding it is pulled back or pinched.
- Severe cellulite: This type of cellulite is easily visible without having to pull back the skin. It can be seen as very prominent bumps or “ripples” in the skin.
Cellulite can appear in virtually any part of the body, but is most prominent in the thighs, legs and buttocks.
Cellulite Causes
Almost every woman deals with some degree of cellulite, and in many cases it may be completely hereditary or unavoidable. With that taken in to account, certain factors or causes of cellulite may contribute to a more severe case.
Some cellulite causes include:
- Unhealthy eating
- Rapid weight gain / weight loss
- Hormone imbalance
- Excess fat
- Dehydration
- Metabolism issues
Determining the exact cause of cellulite can be incredibly difficult. Scientifically, the appearance of cellulite is caused by pockets of textured fat pressing up against the skin. When this occurs, the well-known “dimpled” appearance begins to form.
Cellulite Treatment
Cellulite isn’t harmful or damaging to your health, but many find it unsightly and wish to treat it. Cellulite treatment comes in many different forms, all designed to reduce the appearance of the dimpled pockets of fat.
Some different types of cellulite treatment include:
- Laser treatment
- Cellulite creams
- Liposuction
- Spa treatments
- Full-body cryotherapy
- Accoustic wave therapy
The effectiveness of these methods varies. The only way to determine which cellulite treatment is right for you is to speak with a professional.

Botox Treatment
As we mature, skin changes and muscle movement cause wrinkles and facial creases that may make you look older than you feel. There’s a way to reduce them and revive your youthful glow. Botox cosmetic enhancement is an FDA-approved treatment that uses a series of tiny injections to reduce your ability to move those muscles that cause wrinkles or folds.
Botox procedures take about fifteen minutes and require no hospital stay, so you can get back to your usual activities right after your treatment. To discover how Botox can help restore your face’s youthful appearance, speak with a cosmetic Botox expert at (718) 576-3792 or contact us online.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is Botox?
The active ingredient in Botox is botulinum toxin, which works by blocking a brain hormone (neurotransmitter) called acetylcholine. When the cells in the muscles affected by Botox can’t release acetylcholine, they can’t move. This reduces and smooths skin wrinkles.
What areas does Botox treat?
Botox treats facial wrinkles, giving your face a smoother, younger look. It can be used to smooth many different types of wrinkles of the face and facial area, including:
- lines on the forehead or between the brows
- crow’s feet around the eyes
- lip lines, including laugh lines and smoker’s lines
- chin wrinkles
- neck bands
Botox may also be applied to cheek muscles to soften and contour the jaw, or to the corners of the mouth to prevent them from turning down.
What can I expect from my Botox treatment?
Botox treatments are usually simple and straightforward. First, you and your doctor will discuss desired results. Then your doctor will inject Botox into your skin using a fine needle, causing only minimal discomfort. After taking a few minutes to ensure you have no negative reactions to the treatment, you can return to your usual activities.
Botox begins taking effect between three and five days after the procedure. Full results are generally achieved within two weeks. The effects of Botox Cosmetic typically last between three and six months. If you have deep skin folds that may not be diminished by Botox alone, it can be combined with dermal fillers for improved and longer-lasting results.
You can resume facial skin care routines right after the Botox Cosmetic injections, as long as you do not rub or massage your face until twenty-four hours after the procedure. Air travel and exercise should both be avoided for one to two days after the procedure, as both may cause the botulinum toxin to move to other parts of the face.
What are the side effects of Botox?
Side effects of Botox are generally mild, though more serious side effects may occur in rare cases. The most common include:
- pain, bruising, or swelling at the injection site
- headache
- flu-like symptoms
- eye dryness
Rarely, the botulinum toxin may spread to other parts of the body – a medical emergency that requires immediate attention, and may cause the following:
- trouble breathing or swallowing
- muscle weakness
- vision problems
Alcohol can intensify the bruising that may accompany Botox injections, so you should stop drinking alcohol two days before Botox and not resume until about a week after the procedure. You should also avoid anti-inflammatory medications like ibuprofen, naproxen, and aspirin the week after the procedure, as they can increase bruising.

Non-Invasive Body Contouring Procedures
In the quest to lose weight and achieve an overall healthier lifestyle, many consider the use of invasive and noninvasive fat removal procedures.
Liposuction, a surgical cosmetic fat reduction procedure, targets patients who have a generally stable body weight but would like to remove undesirable deposits of body fat in specific areas of the body. The process consists of removing fat cells from the body through a cannula (a hallow tube) which is inserted under the skin, and an aspirator (a suction device) which sucks stubborn fat from your body.
Surgical body contouring, by contrast, has historically consisted of procedures to eliminate and/or reduce excess skin and fat that remains on previously obese patients who have lost a significant amount of weight. Body contouring has been known to target a number of different body parts including:
- Facelift: Sagging of the mid-face, jowls and neck
- Breast lift: Sagging, flattened breasts
- Tummy tuck: Excess skin hanging over the abdomen
- Lower body lifts: Sagging of the abdomen, buttocks, groin and outer thighs
- Medial thigh lift: Sagging of the inner, outer and mid-thigh
- Arm lift: Sagging of the upper arms
Non-invasive, non-surgical methods, however, have since begun to gain the spotlight. These treatments can help you achieve the body shape you want with far fewer risks that would normally be associated with surgery. Non-invasive body contouring involves minimal recovery time so you can resume normal activities the same day; however, results typically take longer to manifest and will require multiple treatments.
For more information about non-invasive body contouring, please call (718) 576-3792 or contact us online.
Forms of Non-Invasive Body Contouring
There are many body shaping methods available. These include:
- Low Level Laser Technology (LLLT): As an FDA-approved procedure, LLLT uses cold laser energy to break down fat cells in order to reduce fat and stimulate your body’s natural fat reduction process for smoother, tighter and firmer body shape.
- Cryolipolysis: By destroying fat cells through controlled cooling, FDA-approved cryolipolysis crystalizes and kills fat cells to allow your body to naturally eliminate them over time.
- Ultrasound: Ultrasound body contouring is an FDA-approved fat removal procedure that uses highly-targeted sound waves to destroy fat cells.
- Radiofrequency: Typically used most often for skin tightening, radiofrequency uses controlled energy delivered to fat areas to heat fat cells and destroy them.
Am I a Good Candidate for Non-Invasive Body Contouring?
In general, you might be a good candidate for non-invasive body contouring if you:
- Are an adult whose weight loss has stabilized
- You are not a smoker
- You are committed to leading a healthy lifestyle with proper nutrition and fitness
- Have realistic expectations about your body contouring results
Non-Invasive Body Contouring Results
Imagine being able to finally wear those jeans or that dress that you’ve always wanted to pull off. Trying to lose weight is difficult and nearly impossible when you’re targeting specific problem areas. Body contouring can make the shape you want easy, affordable and painless. Results may vary depending on patient; similarly, not every treatment will work for every patient. It is thus important to schedule a body contouring consultation with a healthcare provider who can best recommend a treatment plan that will work for you.

Belotero Treatment
Loss of facial volume is, in most cases, unavoidable. That doesn’t making sagging skin, wrinkles and fine lines any less damaging to your confidence. That is why dermal fillers and wrinkle smoothers are so popular.
Belotero is one of these injectable treatments. By utilizing advanced science, Belotero may be able to help you provide a more youthful look to your face. Request more information today; call (718) 576-3792 or contact us online.
What is Belotero?
Belotero is an injectable treatment that is FDA-approved to smooth moderate to severe wrinkles and folds. Belotero has also been used to treat:
- Crow’s feet
- Fine lines
- Frown lines
- Parenthesis
- Laugh lines
- Smile lines
- Nasolabial folds
In order to determine if you are a good candidate, you must have your skin assessed by a professional who has been trained in the use of dermal fillers. During this consultation, your professional will analyze the presence of wrinkles, fine lines and more on your skin, as well as your medical history.
What makes Belotero different are its subtle results. Because Belotero is specially designed to integrate in to your skin’s natural tissue, it largely avoids the dreaded “plastic” look that is sometimes associated with dermal fillers and smoothing gels.
How Does Belotero Work?
Like several other dermal fillers, Belotero utilizes a solution known as hyaluronic acid (HA). This solution naturally occurs in your skin, but diminishes with age. Belotero rejuvenates the skin by replenishing stores of HA, among other key solutions.
Belotero adds volume and fullness to skin the areas where it has been lost. This can even be done with extremely fine lines, due to Belotero’s moisturizing and rejuvenating effects. Belotero avoids the lumpiness and hardness that can spring up when other fillers are utilized. The effects of Belotero last around nine months, with most patients electing to receive follow-up treatments thereafter. Belotero features virtually no downtime and no bruising.

Acne Treatment
Acne takes many forms: whiteheads, blackheads, pimples and cysts are troubling and difficult to deal with, especially when they occur in adults (adult acne). There is no one best acne treatment, but there are several options available to those suffering from this condition.
If you’re in need of acne treatment, call (718) 576-3792 or contact us online.
Best Acne Treatment
One of the best ways to combat acne is with preventive treatment. Because most forms of acne stem from clogged pores and excess oil, here are a few simple ways to improve your overall skin health:
- Keep clean: Wash your face at least twice a day with a mild facial cleanser. Avoid products that dry out your skin. These can increase oil production.
- Avoid makeup: Certain makeup can irritate the skin. Consult your doctor before using any new foundation or cover-up.
- Avoid sun exposure: Too much sun can severely damage your facial skin. This is also true for tanning beds.
- De-stress: Stress may contribute to acne, so it’s best to avoid stressors and enjoy healthier skin as a benefit.
- Detox: Skin is semi-permeable which means that it absorbs the toxins in our environment and in our skin care products. Effectively detoxifying under the supervision of your doctor 1-2 times per year and using organic products without harmful chemicals will unclog pores and keep skin healthier.
- Eat a healthy diet: Refined sugars, dairy, chocolate and greasy food can all contribute to acne production. Adhering to a Mediterranean diet consisting of fruits, vegetables, whole grains and lean proteins can protect against acne.
Depending on the severity of your adult acne, certain over-the-counter medications and cosmetic procedures may be recommended. These treatments can include:
- Creams, face washes and cleansers
- Facials and extractions
- Benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid
- Radiofrequency (RF) technology treatment
- Microdermabrasion
- Laser therapy
Some prescription acne treatments include Accutane, Sortret and hormonal birth control for women.
Hormonal Acne Treatment
A large portion of acne and adult acne stems from hormonal imbalance. That makes hormonal acne treatment an effective tool for dealing with acne on the face, back, shoulders, chest or anywhere else on the body.
In essence, when hormones such as estrogen, progesterone and testosterone are not balanced, they cause your body to react by creating more oil and more acne. The best way to combat this hormonal imbalance is with bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT).
Unlike conventional hormone replacement therapy, BHRT uses biologically identical and naturally derived hormones. These hormones offer a safe, effective solution for treating adult acne. Bio-identical hormones can be delivered in:
- Pills
- Tablets
- Pellets
- Patches
- Creams
- Gels
Oral contraceptives may also be given as hormonal acne treatment.
Severe Acne Treatment
If you’re suffering from severe acne, it’s best to get treated immediately. Acne that is left untreated can quickly result in unsightly acne scars. If you’re interested in treating your acne with bioidentical hormones or an alternate treatment, please call (718) 576-3792 or contact us online.
Acne Scar Treatment
When acne develops, pores in the skin become blocked with oil. Bacteria begin to grow in the pore, and acne (also called pimples, zits or breakouts) can develop. Acne can be mild or severe and may cause scarring if pimples are squeezed repetitively. In fact, some experts don’t believe that the acne itself is the cause of scarring, but that continuing to pick at a spot once it has been “popped” or drained is more to blame.
Acne scars can take many shapes and cause the skin to look rough, bumpy or discolored. Not every person who has acne will scar. Scarring is related to how your body responds to inflammation, and even people with severe acne may not scar depending on their body’s unique makeup. For most people, acne scars can’t be completely eliminated with acne scar treatment, but most can be smoothed and their appearance lessened.
Find the most effective acne scar treatment for your skin. Call (718) 576-3792 or contact us online.
Types of Acne Scar Treatment
The best defense against acne scars is to effectively treat the acne itself. Begin by addressing your diet and identifying any hormonal imbalances as this can often attribute to the proliferation of acne. Once the acne is under control, you have a variety of options to help manage scars. The effectiveness of acne scar treatment will vary widely depending on the severity of the scars, the procedure used, and the skill level of the health care provider. Often, many acne scar treatments are used together for maximum effect.
Some of the most common acne scar treatments include:
- Microneedling: Tiny needles puncture the skin to create controlled injury. This stimulates the body’s own healing and collagen production to eliminate acne scars.
- Laser therapy: Lasers remove the top layer of skin so new skin can form. Laser treatments are performed under local anesthesia to numb the skin. Laser treatments have shown promise in treating acne.
- Dermabrasion: A rapidly spinning wheel made of diamond, wire or sandpaper removes the skin’s surface and smooths deeper scars.
- Skin fillers: Filler materials including collagen, fat, silicone or hyaluronic acid are injected with a needle into sunken scars. Fat may be used from another part of the patient’s body. The body will absorb most fillers within a year, and the results are not permanent.
- Chemical peels: An acid solution is applied to the skin for varying amounts of time to remove the top layer of skin. Peels can range from mild to very deep and may require extensive monitoring or support by a health care professional. Peeling and pain can be expected.
- Radiofrequency (RF) Technology: A pulse of energy is delivered to the deep layers of skin to stimulate collagen growth. The RF energy is combined with gentle heat to break down scar tissue and smooth out indentions left by acne.
- Topical: Creams, lotions or ointments can be applied to the skin to help improve surface texture.

What is Acne?
Acne is the medical term for clogged skin pores. Acne is most often caused by hair follicles underneath your skin becoming clogged with oil, dead skin cells, and other natural substances. When this happens, visible blemishes form. These blemishes are not a serious health risk, but they can cause scars and may also be an indication of a more concerning health issue.
Adult acne, despite popular belief, is very real and a concern for many. Acne and acne scars can occur anywhere on your body, but are most commonly found on the:
- Face
- Neck
- Back
- Chest
- Shoulders
Acne can range anywhere from light to severe, depending on the form it takes. This is because there are several types of acneand several contributing causes of acne. They include:
- Hormonal imbalance
- Excess oil
- Certain bacteria
- Inflammation
Types of Acne
Adult acne is a general term that describes a number of more specific blemishes. These include:
- Whiteheads: Scientifically, these are referred to as closed comedones. Whiteheads manifest themselves as small white bumps on the skin that are caused by oil clogging your pores that push the underlying follicle to the surface. Whiteheads are not exposed to air, which explains their color.
- Blackheads: Blackheads are, in essence, the opposite of whiteheads. Because of this, they are referred to by the medical community as open comedones. Like whiteheads, they are caused by oil clogging your pores. Where they differ is that the clogged follicles are exposed to air, which causes them to turn black.
- Papules: This type of acne manifests itself as small, cone-shaped pink bumps. In essence, papules are a variety of whitehead that contain no pus and have become inflamed. Unlike some of the other forms of acne, papules are painful to the touch.
- Pimples: What most call pimples, the medical community refers to as pustules. These are similar to papules, but different in that they contain visible pus. This causes inflammation, although most pimples are generally painless.
- Nodules and Cysts: These are the most severe forms of acne. Nodules appear on large areas of the skin and are incredibly painful. They are hard to the touch, severely inflamed and reside deep with your skin. Cysts are similar, but softer and filled with pus.
